The GMC has several teams that work with key individuals and organisations to improve how we work with doctors and other organisations. The aim of this engagement is to increase our understanding of the reality of work for doctors in the UK, and to enable us to learn from what is happening on the clinical and educational frontline.
The feedback we receive through these teams can highlight trends, examples of good and poor practice, and concerns.
The state of medical education and practice report offers unique insight into the UK medical profession, drawing on data held by the General Medical Council, the regulator of all doctors practising in the UK. The 2014 report, the fourth to be published, presents more data than ever on the state of medical education and practice in the UK.
