Wild Smooth-coated otters feasting on their fresh catch

Sunset light in Assateague Island, bathing these two wild horses there.

Eagle passing the dam with its meal pulled the river.

This eagle flew by very close presenting its recently pulled meal from the river.

Male Kingfisher passing a fish to his partner. I don’t think I could ever get tired of photographing these little characters. ❤️

It waited nearly 15 min until fisherman selects their fish and finally could get one from them. This was captured at Thalawila Beach.

This eagle looks pretty happy there digging into its fish.

Looking for the next meal on the edge of the pond.

Australian Hobby (Falco longipennis) juvenile

The two Hobby chicks have fledged. First spotted as I walked back from the bakery this morning. I was able to find a few minutes late in the morning to pop back to have a look. Dad was back in the tree over the laneway, perusing the menu before making the the catch and delivering the prey to Mum to divide between the two. This one chose to move to a power line to dine.

Abandoned sometime ago, not sure on the history.

Greater Yellowlegs spots movement in the water in the Assateague Island marsh.

Seen at Ding Darling NWR. Not sure what kind of fish this is - must be a bottom dweller.

The House Wren brought a Daddy Long Legs for the young ones.

It's been a great opportunity to watch the House Wrens during their nesting phase.

The male started singing continuously for many days. When a female finally arrived (and approved of the bird house) they brought sticks and feathers for the nest. Once the eggs had hatched both adults brought tiny insects to feed the young. As the young ones grew the insects increased in size to earwigs, spiders, moths and crickets. Yummy.

The young wrens must be close to fledging as the adults have become more agitated. They chatter continuously when a Grackle comes into the yard and yesterday one of the Wrens dive-bombed a Chipmunk.

I have yet to see how many young are in the bird house. Hopefully, I'll have that chance before they fledge.

After flying by with its meal, the hawk landed in the woods. I slowly approached to be able to get in position for some captures without scaring the hawk.

Teneral female Blue-tailed Damselfly (Ischnura elegans) eyeing up a prospective snack on a warm but overcast day near Saint Chads Water nature reserve in South Derbyshire. She looks like she'll most likely turn into a violacea form.

The really good Thai Spa's take such trouble to create a heavenly atmosphere. And with such style, intricacy and creativity too.

These sorts of decorative arrangements could be found every 10 meters in a one acre size spa ....

If I make it to Heaven and it looks anything like the spa I visited in Koh Samui, Thailand, that will do for me!

some cats just know how to work a panel.
