I am looking for some pictures with me as well. I have thousands of photos of other family members, but I am always behind the camera. Now I am looking for these. So, some day the children will know that I existed. :)))

This is me in 1892. The photographer told me: "Can you put on a smile and look less arrogant?". That really pissed me off and I looked at him with an even more contemptuous air. He took the photo. I took the first train back to London.
Questo sono io nel 1892. Il fotografo mi guardò contrariato e mi disse: "Può accennare un sorriso, avrebbe un'espressione meno arrogante?". Mi irritò molto e lo guardai con un'aria ancora più sprezzante. Scattò la foto. Io presi il primo treno di ritorno a Londra.

A água do mar é fria como o vento da meia noite, então me arrepio toda. Meu desconhecimento total - o vazio da solidão - já tomou conta de mim, já nem me preocupo.
O odor fresco do mar me impregna com sonhos distantes. Mesmo tentando pensar, meus pensamentos fogem de mim. Sou agora um ser perdido - dentro de mim mesma, algo então vai se desfazendo e desaguando como líquido dentro do mar.
I decided to post this photo from a while back. This picture was taken at Lake Shelbyville and as always in the morning. I had woke up and taken a glance outside and noticed how foggy it was. I knew I could get a great shot so I hurried up and got ready and once the sun came up it was a beautiful scene.

The Lesser Flamingo (Phoenicoparrus minor) is a species of flamingo occurring in sub-Saharan Africa.
Lesser flamingos do not migrate and they live in big colonies with sometimes more than 1 million birds. They are mostly active at night. They fly between water bodies in large, V-shaped formations when food sources have become depleted. Even when food is plentiful, flocks may sometimes fly between water sources during the day. Lesser flamingos have no sense of smell and not much sense of taste. Eyesight is important for group activities. They flash their wing's back feathers to communicate. Hearing also plays an important role in communication both between adults and for chicks and parents. The adults are able to identify their offspring through its sounds. These birds often form subgroups within larger groups.
These beautiful flamingo, busy feeding at sunrise was captured during a photography safari on an early morning game drive along the shores of the swamps in Amboseli National Park, Kenya.

Coming home from a birthday party in Hamburg, I took my time making use of the travel tripod a had with me.
A few days ago I hit 10,000 views. Took me 72 days!!
September had been very kind to me. I uploaded 4 times for a total of 9 photos. 8 of those photos made Explore Interestingness with 3 making it all the way to top 5 (appearing and disappearing)!!!!

ps: For a people shooter, I'm quite camera shy. The above self portrait, which is also my buddy icon, was shot the first time I used the 50mm f1.8 and tried bounced flash.
My mother took this with a brownie camera at Manzanita (little apple) elementary school in Oakland. Our class was doing a Native American dance and I was one of the eagle dancers. Pretty sure it was May Day which back then we celebrated with maypole dancing and other events. Don’t think they do this anymore.
