Face-lifted with an even more refined exterior and interior, the 2012 Mazda3 also is the first application in North America of Mazda’s innovative SKYACTIV fuel-saving and performance-oriented technologies, achieving 40 mpg on the highway. The Multi Information Display (MID) and liquid crystal display (LCD) also received color adjustments, changing from the red text and graphics of the current model to an easier-to-read white.

Not a bad little car.

2005 Mazda3 S 5-speed. This car was a couple months old with 1300 miles on it when I rolled it during the first MI snow. It was never the same. I did a few mods to this car but after getting rear ended at 13000 miles, I wanted out. I owned it from Fall 2004 through January of 2006.

Yet another brand new Matchbox 2019 Mazda3 found recently at Tesco. Having a sole supermarket chain selling the brand is a terrible thing for UK collectors but when they do get stock in its usually very plentiful. Mint and boxed.

The refreshed 2012 Mazda3 brings the technology to life through a SKYACTIV powertrain (SKYACTIV-G 2.0-liter gasoline engine and SKYACTIV-Drive six-speed automatic transmission) mounted onto a current vehicle platform.

My new Mazda

A small team of designers and engineers at Mazda R&D decided to have a little fun with this MAZDA3. The team took its knowledge of the Mazda parts bin and its close relationship with MAZDASPEED Motorsports Suppliers, looked in the mirror, and decided to build a tuner car that shows its own vision of the MAZDA3.

Our wheels for our trip to Death Valley, a very fun little rental called the Mazda 3. It was fun to drive on the twisty roads, but it could use a little bit more power, especially on vast straight stretches of desert highway.
