Happy Birthday to Max Scotti!
This was not the first time I have worked with Max Scotti. For those of you who do not have the pleasure of knowing Max, he is a very happy go lucky type guy who is always down for an adventure whether it be an art project of mine or traveling to half way around the world! Just like the background, Max's personality is fully saturated!
We talked about his favorite and most sentimental places in Bristol, and the first one he mentioned was the Tank Farm. It's a place that feels like it is a secret, yet it's accessible and hiding right under your nose. Max has brought almost every single one of his friends there at one point or another. The Tank Farm continues to be covered in fresh art, and everytime you go there, there seems to be a new addition to see (similar to Max's personality, upbeat, fun and exciting!)
When I asked Max how he would describe himself he shared that he would use the word lost, but that seemed too pessimistic. Instead he chose the word "undefined" because if Bristol and his past have shaped him to become the person he is today, then there is still a lot more refining to do to define exactly who Max is and a lot more to the journey "in finding out what exactly is going to go on in this crazy thing we call life." Max's mentality and view on the world, is one that I think a lot of us can appreciate and learn from. It's important to not let the past define who we are or let negative events push us into a hole but instead, pause and reflect at who we are and who we want to be.
"The Hot Wheels Max Steel is a depiction of a semi-futuristic hot rod." I must admit to not seeing anything remotely futuristic about this relatively new casting, all I see is pure retro.
Its a casting I didn't really take any notice of first time around as its not really the type of vehicle I actively collect. However this latest 2024 Case B recolour seems to hit the spot with its colour, subtle licensed logos and whitewall tyres.
