Max De Bernardi suona la chitarra e canta ed è un grande conoscitore del genere country blues. Esplora un territorio musicale compreso tra il piedmont blues e il ragtime caratterizzati da un fingerpicking cadenzato dai bassi alternati, senza tecnicismi superflui. Oltre alla chitarra acustica suona anche il mandolino e l’ukulele.

Si è formato musicalmente alla fine degli anni ’70 ascoltando i grandi maestri del Country Blues Blind Blake, Leadbelly, Rev, Gary Davis, Sam Chatom, Son House, Mississippi John Hurt, forgiando ben presto uno stile personalissimo. I suoi brani sono di Blind Boy Fuller, Blind Blake, Big Bill Broonzy ed altri bluesmen degli anni Venti e Trenta accanto ad alcuni traditionals.

Ha suonato a Sestri Levante, Rovigo Delta blues, Trescore in Blues, Rapperswill Blues’n’Jazz, Saint Gallen, Glarus Open Air, Lugano Blues to Bop, Lario Blues and Jazz, Amenoblues.

So far he sure is a cool dog, albeit very calm and calculated. Certainly seems to be soaking in the environment before making any drastic moves!
