The Ford Maverick was introduced on April 17, 1969 - 5 years to the date after the introduction of Ford’s wildly successful Mustang. The Maverick was promoted as an ‘import fighter’, a reaction to the increasing market share not only by companies such as Volkswagen but the ever-rising popularity of Toyota and Datsun.
Its initial price was $1995 for a very basically appointed, low content car. The “grabber” package was offered sometime later, comprising certain visual enhancements such as stripes, hood scoops, faired OSRV mirrors, black painted ends, auxiliary lighting plus some additional bright colors such as ‘Grabber Blue’, ‘Grabber Orange’, Grabber Green’ and the like.
The one above appears to be restored to an excellent condition.

The Mavericks Surf Contest went down on Saturday, February 13th, 2010, with 50-foot faces at times! I went, but instead of trying to jockey for position in the crowd at the cliff, I shot into the lineup using a supertelephoto setup from two miles away.
Here's my friend, Maverick, at the Regina Flying Club. He is responsible for keeping the runways clear of vermin and, as you can tell, he is very good at his job.
Spotted these two majestic Pelicans practicing formation flying at Monastery Beach just south of Carmel in the Coastal Highway in California.
If you drive down the highway reserve plenty of time to stop at the beaches and traverse the paths to coast.
I have several friends who work their dogs, and every now and then I think to go photograph them at "work". This is Maverick, a 6-year-old Blue Merle Border Collie (I had to ask.) He's GOOD and FAST. According to his owner/handler, he is at the Masters level in agility in AKC and USDAA.

When I was looking for inspiration for some quick joy, I was attracted by this Cam-Am Maverick buggy. It was a two-night building and I really enjoyed it. The Dakar Rally is approaching, and I believe we will definitely see one in the desert.

365 Project - Day 31
This Mavericks shot was taken out at Pillar Point during the Saturday practice run of the 2013 Mavericks Invitational.
I called this photo Mounting the Mavericks because its a capture of a surfer's moment of waiting: the breath as they move their stance, and the wave starts to double in on itself. I admire surfers for the raw unbridled love of nature they have. Its a thing to behold.
Thank you to Jeff Clark for allowing me to come along and get these shots and thank you so much flickr members, all who view. Your kind words help validate this passion I have and for that, I am endlessly grateful.
This was a really fun for me to go back and revisit. My original 8 stud version was one of the earlier MOCs I did and over time I wasn't super thrilled with the end result. I completely rebuilt it from scratch for this update and in my opinion is way more accurate to the model it was based on. The structure itself is quite complicated compared to alot of my other models. There are tons of techniques and bracket-work in this version to give it the correct shape. My only regret I wasn't able to build it in medium blue due to the part selection for that color being slightly limited at the moment.
