Today I went to the doctor! I'm sick. :0)
I have an earache, tummy ache and I have chills. I'm sick.
BUT!! I feel better! The doctor gave me some medicine and I'm all better! That's what my oldest son would say when we went to the doctor.
Today it paid to be sick and go to the doctor! I was blessed by the testimony of Albert! He is a nurse at my doc office. I don't get to see him much but when I do he is so much fun to talk to!
Today Albert shared a part of his cancer story with me. (I had cancer too and was talking about it.) I have known Albert for many years and I have always thought he was different.
He seemed to stand out, carried himself in a quiet confident manner. He also wears a small black knitted hat to cover his head, which stopped before it got to his ears. The hat always matches his skin color.
Today Albert shared his cancer with me. Cancer is very personal, only another patient can truly understand where you have been and returned from.
It seems the "Lord" puts people in my path just when I need them. I wasn't having a bad day, just felt yucky! But I was blessed today to hear another survivor's story and that always makes me feel stronger and more confident.
So, today I dedicate this square to "Albert"!
If you are lucky enough to be in the "Hampton Roads" area of Virgina! Do yourself a favor, catch a bug and go see Albert! Hey, even the doctor is a cancer survivor!

Fin de match cruelle pour les Diablesses de Saint-Malo en Coupe de France
Les joueuses de l’US Saint-Malo se sont inclinées en 16e de finale de la Coupe de France face à Lens aux tirs au but, samedi 7 janvier 2023. Devant un public quasiment deux fois plus nombreux qu’à l’accoutumée.
C’est bien souvent au mois de janvier que naissent vraiment les épopées de Coupe de France. Celle des Diablesses de Saint-Malo (D2) a été stoppée, nette, à la maison, en 16e de finale contre Lens (D2), samedi 7 janvier 2023. Et de la plus cruelle des manières : aux tirs au but, après avoir mené deux fois au score et quelques occasions manquées de tuer le match. La fin de la disette à domicile ne sera pas pour cette fois. L’espoir de faire un coup en Coupe non plus.
Du jeu et des buts
Mais tout le reste y était : un match ouvert et plaisant, du jeu, des buts (2-2), du suspense et une affluence quasi doublée par rapport au quotidien du championnat. Déçus, les 351 spectateurs venus à Marville auront quand même apprécié le moment.
Parmi eux, il y avait un bon contingent de doudounes noires flanquées du logo du club. Des joueurs de l’équipe masculine, des jeunes de l’école de foot et les fidèles du Kop’Sair, le club de supporters de Saint-Malo, présent à chaque match à domicile et régulièrement à l’extérieur.
« Après deux années difficiles, c’est mieux. Les filles ont un groupe jeune et ça joue bien. Le club a des joueuses de qualité, des sélectionnées chez les jeunes en équipe de France. D’autres qui sont passées ici percent ailleurs. On constate qu’il y a davantage de monde dans les tribunes », notent Sylvain, Arnaud et Arsène. À la mi-temps à 1-1, ils croyaient fort à la qualification.
Des sections féminines invitées
Patrick, un abonné de l’US Saint-Malo, qui vient voir les filles de temps en temps, souligne aussi la qualité du jeu proposé, même si « quelques maladresses dans la relance empêchent les Malouines de faire mieux ».
Ce match de Coupe entre pensionnaires de la même poule de D2 a été aussi l’occasion de réunir les jeunes joueuses du secteur. Plusieurs sections féminines des clubs alentour dont celle de Dol, Tinténiac, Pleurtuit ou encore Beaussais-sur-Mer avaient été invitées par le club malouin. Une initiative qu’a appréciée Nicolas, dirigeant au Pleurtuit Côte d’Emeraude football. « On est venus avec des jeunes filles de U8 à U13. En plus le match est ouvert, il y a des occasions. »
Le FC Beaussais Rance Frémur a « davantage l’habitude d’aller à Guingamp », raconte Sébastien, responsable du foot animation. « Mais c’est bien de venir ici à Saint-Malo. C’est moins loin et ça permet aux jeunes du club de découvrir l’équipe phare d’à côté. »
À la fin du match, Nina, Margaux et Emmy, trois jeunes du club étaient, malgré la défaite, satisfaites de leur première à Saint-Malo. « Les Malouines ont bien joué c’étaient un beau match. » Il n’a manqué qu’un brin de réussite pour que l’après-midi soit parfait.
