The Alpari World Match Racing Tour (AWMRT) is the leading professional sailing series featuring six World Championship events across the globe, sanctioned by the International Sailing Federation (ISAF) with âSpecial Eventâ status.
The Alpari World Match Racing Tour awards over US$1.5 million in prize money with points awarded at each event culminating in the crowning of the âISAF Match Racing World Championâ. The prize fund includes a US$500,000 overall Tour Bonus for the top teams in the Championship.
Events take place in identically supplied racing yachts to place the focus on teamwork and skill. Racing takes place close to the shore so that spectators and fans can follow the racing in a virtual on-the-water stadium.

Match For Michaela 2012 At Casement Park Belfast where the Donegal All Ireland Champions Played the Ulster Select team in order to raise awareness and money for the Michaela Foundation. The night was a huge success with around 19,000 people attending the event + the event was broadcasted world wide through TG4 and BBC. Entertainment was also part of the night with performances from Ulsters own Janet Devlin. Local Bands also played at the event and there was various other events that took place on the night. these guys played a rough soccer match as we were visiting the impressive museum of ethnology in the vienna city center. it was a beautiful sunny afternoon and the park in front of the museum and the famous "hofburg" palace was very crowded.

Although my friend and I weren't able to catch the matches, we were still allowed inside Philippe Chatrier. We took pictures way up in the bleachers area while the staff were cleaning up the court. It's really weird seeing it empty -- it looks a lot smaller.

Ferriby's ninth consecutive win - and fourth straight clean sheet - maintained their 11-point advantage over fellow title challengers Winterton Rangers.

Yesterday, Thursday 23 January 2025, saw Manchester United take on Rangers FC in the latest round of Europa League.
Greater Manchester Police officers were working through the evening to keep people safe across Manchester as over 70,000 football fans to Old Trafford to watch the match.
More than 450 officers across GMP were deployed through the night with 39 arrests being made in total – the vast majority being before the game.
We made 26 arrests in the Ancoats area of the city after some disorder broke out just after 6pm.
Further arrests were made on suspicion of drug offences, drunk and disorderly behaviour, tragedy chanting, and assault of a steward.
Ensuring thousands of match-going fans arrive safely for such an event takes a considerable amount of planning,
consideration, and dedication.
We worked with both football clubs and their respective supporters’ groups in the months leading up to the game to ensure the match passed safely with as little disruption to the wider public as possible.
Thankfully, after the game there were no further incidents outside the stadium as supporters headed home.
Assistant Chief Constable Chris Sykes, match commander for the game, said: “These high-profile fixtures are always exciting occasions, but they also naturally present challenges to ensure that the thousands of spectators can enjoy the game safely and to minimise disruption for the wider public.
“Last night, we did see some incidents before the game which required a prompt response from our officers to prevent any further disorder and harm.
Arrests were made and further disorder was prevented.
“An operation like this takes weeks, if not months, of planning with both clubs and all our local partners.
Generally the crowds have been really well behaved and the vast majority have had a safe and enjoyable time watching the game in Manchester.”
