This was the first time we ate at Yakyudori and met Master. He is awesome and is pretty much the definition of dirty old man.

l’opening act di Amy Love e Georgia South, ovvero le Nova Twins, il 28 marzo 2023 alla Santeria Toscana 31 di Milano, è affidato a Master Peace.
Viene dal Sud di Londra Peace Okezie, in arte Master Peace, e sapientemente mischia andazzi rap con pulsazioni e sferzate di chitarra che rimandano all’indie rock di primi 2000.
Il giovane inglese con questo EP “Peace of Mind”, farà sicuramente parlare di sé: 5 tracce al fulmicotone per quasi 12 minuti totali, che hanno come obiettivo principe quello di riattivare le sinapsi in ogni dancefloor pop rock che si rispetti.
Si parte con la graffiante “Country Life” ed “Achilles Heel” e le loro linee di basso che fanno tanto primi Arctic Monkeys e i loro ritornelli a presa diretta. Dice di ispirarsi a gente come Bloc Party and The Streets (con quest’ultimi vanta pure una collaborazione), ma è con “Veronica” che torniamo dritti al 2005 ed al carambolare pop-rock di Alex Turner e compagnia. Un pezzo che non potrà che avere, almeno oltremanica, una degna diffusione tra le rotte FM.
“Groundhog Day” piazza l’affondo con fendenti di chitarra e basso, “Kaleidoscope” chiude i giochi con un piccolo inno indie rock da tempi andati.
Sicuramente derivativo, altrettanto efficace, Master Peace è uno di quei nomi da appuntarsi.
