Scrub scrub scrub. Down on my hands and knees scrubbing paint overspray off the floors everywhere. In the end the only way to get the overspray off the floors is using my fingernails. All fingernails on right hand are gone now and I'm down to using the nails on my left hand. I have been going through the whole house marking each spot that needs touchup or repair

Amongst my grandfather's tools but I don't know what it would be used for. It would seem to be a marking gauge with two pins either side of a central guide or keel which I assume would run in a groove or channel. It was obviously considered important enough for the original owner to stamp his name on it and for him to pass it on to my grandfather.
Marking 100 years since the start of World War One, we had a special remembrance service at the Horsell War Memorial on Sunday, the 3rd of August 2014.
Part of the plan was encouraging people to plant and grow poppies back in the spring. They're quite tricky, but fortunately one couple grew an amazing number that flowered at the right time. These were placed around the memorial.

This is a great example of how book plates and other marks can trace the provenance of a particular item. This item appears to have been first marked by a private owner, then by the Baillie's Library and, when purchased by ISU, with the Milner Library pocket. In general, libraries are careful about marking books since glues and inks become a permanent part of the book (We would never glue a pocket or a barcode into this item today). Since removing these markings would be difficult without damaging the item, we'll just leave them in place.

Noticed this stunning Crab Spider, hurtling through the undergrowth of the sand dunes. Took many photos, but the only ones that turned out were these on my hand.
Yoga enthusiasts marking the International Yoga Day are encouraging others to help build their core strength, flexibility and confidence. A weekend *yoga marathon* took place in #SouthSudan to commemorate the day. The event was organized by #UNMISS Force Signal Unit of the Indian Battalion. “Please maintain yoga as a healthy practice” says Lakhwinder Singh as he finalized the last hour-and-a-half long session.
The word Yoga is derived from a Sanskrit word called *yuja* which means *to unite*.

Stopped by the Parkdale Market today. It wasn't a particularly nice day, it was raining. But I like this market, fresh fruits and veggies galore (and garlic)!
