Wishing all the Canadian athletes, the best in bringing home all the GOLD!!! O.K... maybe not all the gold! LoL!
Green and blue reflections surround a red sugar maple leaf resting along the waters edge.

MAPLE LEAF
Fort Norfolk was a minor fortification built at Turkey Point. Following the retreat of British Major-General Procter from Amherstburg in 1813 the British decided to construct a fort on Turkey Point Hill to defend the southwestern end of Upper Canada. Due to the unsuitability of the location the fort was abandoned after only a blockhouse and part of a palisade had been built.
There is some kind of bug infestation which is chewing up our maple leaves and leaving a distinctive chew pattern.

Compositionally Challenged: Week 39 free week. Autumn is here and the colours are, as usual, splendid here in Ontario. Here's a leaf in the lake.
The Maple Leaf section of the Indigenous version of the Canadian flag created by Curtis Wilson, Kwakwaka'wakw artist from Campbell River, BC.
His flags can be purchased (in various sizes) through the Campbell River museum (and perhaps at other First Nations Art Galleries and shops). crmuseum.ca/visit/museum-shop/
At the height of his successful career as an artist as well as and teaching youth about their culture, songs, and dances, Wilson died of a heart attack in 2019.

It's spring here so I have lots of new green in my garden, including this young maple leaf.
Macro Mondays: Green
This morning I heard a faint whisper of the change of seasons as the days become shorter and the nights cooler. After days of relentless sun, I am starting to long for the relief of autumn.
"The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance."
"Anyone can love a rose, but it takes a lot to love a leaf. It's ordinary to love the beautiful, but it's beautiful to love the ordinary."
