Yesterday: sun and a belly shot. Joy!

Today, more rain. I love rain, and we moved to the Pacific Northwest knowing we'd have plenty of rain to soothe my soul. Rain just doesn't make for much contrast. And deciduous trees have lost their leaves, hence looking for them on the ground after a rain.

May I take this opportunity to express my hope for the incoming new president and beautiful vice president? It has been a long siege and a bit wearing on the spirits, even on my own photography.

Color in nature

Happy Canada Day! Happy 145th birthday to Canada, our country!

This is maples in my neighbourhood.

The way some of the little veins connect remind me of neural pathways in the brain. My daughter sees colorful cheetah spots in the upper left corner. It's amazing how each individual person, while looking at the same thing, will perceive it differently!

Fenced Friday

It's amazing where some of these leaves end up!

One nice thing about being in my garden early in the morning is bearing witness to these special moments as the sun finds its way to my lens. Best viewed large.

July 1st is the date of Canada's Confederation; we are 153 years old today, but still young compared to many countries. The maple leaf is one of our national symbols and featured on our well-known flag.
