Super busy day, this shot was done in a quick manner 😁.
I took my white earpiece plug and the socket of audio extension cable, placed it on my Japanese cookies box to create reflections.
Added some text to the shot. If you look carefully, behind the character 'c' was a piece of tiny sting ,,
Lenny Krawitz - Fly Away
www.youtube.com/watch?v=EvuL5jyCHOw
I wish that I could fly
Into the sky
So very high
Just like a dragonfly
I'd fly above the trees
Over the seas in all degrees
To anywhere I please
Oh I want to get away
I want to fly away
Yeah yeah yeah
Oh I want to get away
I want to fly away
Yeah yeah yeah
Let's go and see the stars
The milky way or even Mars
Where it could just be ours
Let's fade into the sun
Let your spirit fly
Where we are one
Just for a little fun
Oh oh oh yeah !
I want to get away
I want to fly away
Yeah yeah yeah

Italia, Veneto, Venezia, Primavera 2018

It is similar to a canoe and it is propelled by a gondolier, who uses a rowing oar, which is not fastened to the hull, in a sculling manner and acts as the rudder. For centuries, the gondola was "The Chief" means of transportation within Venice. In modern times, the boats still do have a role in public transport in the city, serving as traghetti (small ferries) over the Grand Canal operated by two oarsmen.

Feed me next please, I’m starving !
Three baby Java Sparrows, only recently fledged from the nest, wait patiently in-line to be fed by one of their parents.
Actually, the sentence above is a complete lie …. :)
The three fledglings were in fact desperately scrambling over one another in order to be fed first by their parents.
This was simply a case of right time, right moment, lucky capture …. giving a false impression the three fledglings were actually queuing in an orderly manner !
NOTE: These are not wild birds; this image was captured in a large outdoor aviary.

From The Washington Trails Association:
There’s nothing like a lazy beach stroll — and nothing quite like wandering on the spectacularly scenic Olympic Coast.
This hike begins at the Rialto Beach parking area. Your trail is the beach itself and the two mile walk to Hole-in-the-Wall is filled with attractions. Look south to the forested James and Little James islands, while waves crash over Gunsight Rock and numerous offshore sea stacks. Heading north on the beach, walk over sand, rock and driftwood.
Along the way, watch for all manner of wildlife: spy whales, sea lions and otters offshore, while a variety of seabirds drift overhead, and eagles perch in the forest upslope. After a mile, cross Ellen Creek; there may be a log crossing, or you may have to get your feet wet. Continue northward, with Hole-in-the-Wall soon coming into view.
If the tide is out, scramble through the rocky arch and explore the adjacent tide pools, teeming with small oceanic critters. If the tide is in, use the overland trail above the arch and take in panoramic views southward over this picturesque scene.

I will show you a way that I have travelled,
If you come ...
I will show you how everything shifts
a little every moment
and becomes less pretentious
and more primitive,soft and hazy

All manner of tiny insects were active at Blakeley yesterday, making for an amazing day! This very tiny midge reminded me of a ceremonial tribal warrior as it landed on a tall grass blade right in front of me! I saw my first one last year, also in May!
I love these contrasting colours!!

Beginnings. A few days ago I received an unexpected gift. A Russian Helios 44-M lens, dating from 1979. You probably know I am a great fan of the 44-2, so I am delighted to be able to add the new lens to my love affair with Russian Helios lenses ;o)
This is my very first shot with the 44-M lens, mounted on the Sony NEX-7 camera. Some small Peruvian lily flowers resting on a glass base, and slightly overhanging it too! Well, I was impatient to see what the lens could do!
With many, many thanks to jesse1dog with his inspired exploration of all manner of lenses and what they can offer the adventurous and curious photographer!!
HBW! ;o)

Dragon dance (simplified Chinese: 舞龙; traditional Chinese: 舞龍; pinyin: wǔ lóng) is a form of traditional dance and performance in Chinese culture. Like the lion dance, it is most often seen during festive celebrations. The dance is performed by a team of experienced dancers who manipulate a long flexible giant puppet of a dragon using poles positioned at regular intervals along the length of the dragon. The dance team simulates the imagined movements of this river spirit in a sinuous, undulating manner.
The dragon dance is often performed during Chinese New Year. Chinese dragons are a symbol of China's culture, and they are believed to bring good luck to people, therefore the longer the dragon is in the dance, the more luck it will bring to the community. The dragons are believed to possess qualities that include great power, dignity, fertility, wisdom and auspiciousness. The appearance of a dragon is both fearsome and bold but it has a benevolent disposition, and it was an emblem to represent imperial authority. The movements in a performance traditionally symbolize the power and dignity of the dragon.
Chinese New Year is the festival that celebrates the beginning of a new year on the traditional lunisolar Chinese calendar. In Chinese, the festival is commonly referred to as the Spring Festival (traditional Chinese: 春節; simplified Chinese: 春节; pinyin: Chūnjié) as the spring season in the lunisolar calendar traditionally starts with lichun, the first of the twenty-four solar terms which the festival celebrates around the time of the Chinese New Year. Marking the end of winter and the beginning of the spring season, observances traditionally take place from New Year's Eve, the evening preceding the first day of the year to the Lantern Festival, held on the 15th day of the year. The first day of Chinese New Year begins on the new moon that appears between 21 January and 20 February. S20N_1334
The Supremes - Stop In The Name Of Love
www.youtube.com/watch?v=9JiS02O4fEk
Stop! In the name of love
Before you break my heart
Baby, baby
I'm aware of where you go
Each time you leave my door
I watch you walk down the street
Knowing your other love you'll meet
But this time before you run to her
Leaving me alone and hurt
(Think it over) After I've been good to you
(Think it over) After I've been sweet to you
Stop! In the name of love
Before you break my heart
Stop! In the name of love
Before you break my heart
Think it over
Think it over
I've known of your
Your secluded nights
I've even seen her
Maybe once or twice
But is her sweet expression
Worth more than my love and affection?
But this time before you leave my arms
And rush off to her charms
(Think it over) Haven't I been good to you?
(Think it over) Haven't I been sweet to you?
Stop! In the name of love
Before you break my heart
Stop! In the name of love
Before you break my heart
Think it over
Think it over
I've tried so hard, hard to be patient
Hoping you'll stop this infatuation
But each time you are together
I'm so afraid I'll be losing you forever
Stop! In the name of love
Before you break my heart, baby, think it over
(Stop! In the name of love) Think it over, baby
(Before you break my heart) Ooh, think it over baby
VL80s-1981 awaits its next turn at the eastern end of the huge Temirtau Marshalling yards, Karaganda Oblast, Kazakhstan. May the 17th 2024.
ВЛ80с-1981 на станции Жанааул, Темитрау. Карагандинская область, Казахстан.
We do have one last plan for our final morning in Temirtau. As we never had any trouble there we will go to the Janaaul station and await the arrival of a morning commuter train, there is one shown as calling there on google earth. There is no timetable posted at the station and nothing at the terminus in Temirtau either. The terminus building has been given over to government tax office use and the train stops on grass covered tracks alongside coal wagons, we checked it out the afternoon prior. Driving out to the station we see a white electric suburban unit heading in the direction of Temirtau. We will sit it out and await its return. The yard tannoy sounds just before everytime something moves, which is generally the ChME3 on hump shunting movements, including the cutting off of the various wagons. The shouts - unintelligible to us - ricochet across the yards from the multiple speakers placed around the complex. It is quite phsycedelic in its own way and we amuse ourselves in our own solitary manner as we pass the time in the morning sun awaiting the white commuter train to return.

Well the simple answer is they feed on all manner of invertebrates and plant material, particularly seeds. But when they are feeding young they prefer high-protein insects to seeds. I photographed this one high on the Peak District Moors and in its beak it has the caterpillar of an Antler Moth (Cerapteryx graminis) which is common on these moors, flying in July and August. I walked down a moorland track (which incidentally was flanked with non-moorland vegetation like this Yorkshire Fog grass) and a Skylark rose up singing not far away. When I reached the same spot on the way back I saw him on the track but he then flew, disappearing into the trackside grass. It was raining at this point but I approached slowly and spotted him sitting on a stone in the grass just a few metres away, tenaciously holding a caterpillar. He just sat quietly as we walked past, even when I paused to take his photograph. I assume he had a nest with hungry youngsters somewhere nearby and it did not want to disclose its location while humans were nearby.
Incidentally the name Skylark sounds quintessentially English, inspiring poets and composers. Yet the name is a translation of Gesner's 1555 Swiss-German name Himmellerch. Although John Ray did call it "The common or Skie-Lark" in 1678, it was a century later when Thomas Pennant used it to differentiate from the rarer Woodlark, and the name caught on.

After all you put me through
You'd think I'd despise you
But in the end, I wanna thank you
'Cause you made me that much stronger
Well, I thought I knew you
Thinkin' that you were true
Guess I, I couldn't trust, called your bluff
Time is up 'cause I've had enough
You were there by my side
Always down for the ride
But your joyride just came down in flames
'Cause your greed sold me out in shame, mhm
After all of the stealing and cheating
You probably think that I hold resentment for you
But uh-uh, oh no, you're wrong
'Cause if it wasn't for all that you tried to do
I wouldn't know just how capable
I am to pull through
So I wanna say thank you, 'cause it
Makes me that much stronger
Makes me work a little bit harder
Makes me that much wiser
So thanks for making me a fighter
Made me learn a little bit faster
Made my skin a little bit thicker
Makes me that much smarter
So thanks for making me a fighter
Oh-oh, oh-oh, oh-oh, oh-oh
Oh, yeah, yeah, ohh
Never saw it coming
All of your backstabbing
And just so you could cash in on a good thing
Before I realized your game
I heard you're goin' 'round
Playin' the victim now
But don't even begin feeling I'm the one to blame
'Cause you dug your own grave
After all of the fights and the lies
Guess you're wanting to hold me
But that won't work anymore (no more, a-ha, it's over)
'Cause if it wasn't for all of your torture
I wouldn't know how to be this way now and never back down
So I wanna say thank you, 'cause it
Makes me that much stronger
Makes me work a little bit harder
It makes me that much wiser
So thanks for making me a fighter
Made me learn a little bit faster
Made my skin a little bit thicker
Makes me that much smarter
So thanks for making me a fighter
How could this man I thought I knew
Turn out to be unjust, so cruel?
Could only see the good in you
Pretended not to see the truth
You tried to hide your lies, disguise yourself
Through living in denial
But in the end you'll see, you won't stop me
I am a fighter and I (I'm a fighter)
I ain't gon' stop (I ain't gonna stop)
There is no turning back
I've had enough
Makes me that much stronger
Makes me work a little bit harder (ooh, yeah)
It makes me that much wiser (ooh, yeah)
So thanks for making me a fighter
Made me learn a little bit faster (yeah)
Made my skin a little bit thicker (yeah, yeah, yeah)
Makes me that much smarter (yeah)
So thanks for making me a fighter (fighter)
You thought I would forget but I, I remembered (ooh-ooh-ooh)
'Cause I remembered (ooh-ooh-ooh)
I remembered
You thought I would forget (ooh-ooh)
I remembered (ooh-ooh)
'Cause I remembered (ooh)
I remembered
Makes me that much stronger (ooh-ooh)
Makes me work a little bit harder (ooh-ooh)
It makes me that much wiser
So thanks for making me a fighter
Made me learn a little bit faster
Made my skin a little bit thicker
Makes me that much smarter
So thanks for making me a fighter
