Another rainy day on the streets of Manchester, England. This picture was taken at around 2:10 pm in Albert Square. The Christmas Markets have been dismantled and the Square is being readied for the New Year’s Eve celebrations; but not by these pedestrians passing through.

1500v DC class 506 EMU set 07 formed of vehicles M59407+M59507+M59607 waits departure from Manchester Piccadilly with 2H78 the 11.30 to Hadfield during the final week of 1500v DC operation on BR. Alongside stands a class 108 DMU which will form the 11.50 to Rose Hill Marple and all being bathed in the exhaust fumes of the recently departed DMU on the 11.20 to New Mills.

Looking stunning in Transrail livery, Class 37 No.37240 stands at the blocks at Manchester Piccadilly with 1Q45 Crewe CS-Derby RTC. Network Rail Class 97 No.97304 was on the rear of the set.
