Die Gewinner-Redaktionen des Schülerzeitungswettbewerbes der Länder 2019 wurden beim Empfangsabend, am 20. Juni 2019, im Europäischen Haus in Berlin von Helene Fuchs (links), Bundesvorständin der Jugendpresse Deutschland, Nikola John, Pressereferentin der Europäischen Komission in Deutschland und Thomas Bressau, Projektleiter der Länder der Bundesrepublik Deutschland, begrüßt. Die Teilnehmenden nutzten den Abend zum Austausch untereinander und mit den Sonderpreispartnern des Wettbewerbs, darunter auch die gastgebende Vertretung der Europäische Kommission in Deutschland. Ted Sallis should have died, but the magical energies of the swamp (containing the Nexus of Reality) combined with the Super-Soldier serum to transform him into the hideous creature later known as the Man-Thing. His intelligence rapidly fading, he slew the A.I.M. agents and Man-Thing made the swamps his home and became the guardian of the Nexus of Reality. Eternally cursed with a monstrous form, barely aware of its past or surroundings, the Man-Thing remains the most startling slime creature of all.
Marvel's monstrous Man-Thing Comiquette joins the ranks of Sideshow Collectibles! Each piece is individually painted and hand-finished, each with its own unique quality and detail that is the trademark of a handcrafted Sideshow Collectibles Comiquette. Complete with LED light-up eyes and towering over 18 inches high, the Man-Thing Comiquette captures the intimidating presence of the mutant guardian in incredible detail, the perfect addition to any Marvel display.
Chemist Ted Sallis was assigned to "Project Gladiator", an experiment aimed at recreating the lost "super-soldier" serum that had spawned Captain America during World War II. Sallis attempted to modify the "Super-soldier" serum with another serum, one that historically had transformed people into monsters and got close to success.
He was Betrayed by his wife, Ellen, To guarantee the secret would not fall into the wrong hands, Sallis injected himself with the only existing sample of his modified super soldier serum, and fled into the nearby swamp.
Sallis should have died, but over the course of several hours, mystical forces combined with the chemical science to transform him into the monstrous, misshappen creature who would be dubbed Man-Thing.

Liz wanted some photos taken to send to her "manthing," who's currently residing in Russia. We went to Dairy Queen afterward, and then I happened to take this spur-of-the-moment shot. I tried to give it a little bit of a Draganized affect in Photoshop too...not sure if that's how it looks, but I still like how it turned out.

Sahana, a friend's daughter, sitting pretty on a table at the Festival of India 2012 in Richmond, VA. She apparently has a particular aversion to the male gender, apart from her father, and so I had to make do with taking her pictures from a distance, to which she clearly did not object.
