***Atelier gratuit, ouvert à tous et sans inscription, présenté dans l'Espace culturel Georges-Émile-Lapalme de la Place des Arts, dans le cadre de la série Les Ateliers Place des Arts.***
En présence de Delphine Mantha (danseuse), Caroline Planté (guitariste) et Alvaro Echanove (chanteur), artistes professionnels de Flamenco, cet atelier propose :
- Une mise en contexte des origines et des piliers fondamentaux qui sont le chant, la guitare et la danse.
- Un atelier de danse où la rythmique de contretemps, la manipulation d'éventail et les mouvements de bases de la danse Flamenco sont au rendez-vous.
- Une performance de Delphine Mantha, Caroline Planté et Alovaro Echanove auxquels se joindront, à la fin, les participants.

Makli Hill is one of the largest necropolises in the world, with a diameter of approximately 8 km. It lies approx. 98 km east of Karachi and is the burial place of some 125,000 local rulers, Sufi saints and others. Makli is located on the outskirts of Thatta, the capital of lower Sindh until the seventeenth century, in what is the southeastern province of present-day Pakistan.[1] It was inscribed on the World Heritage List in 1981[2] under the name of Historical Monuments of Thatta.
Legends abound about its inception, but it is often believed that the cemetery grew around the shrine of a fourteenth-century Sarwa, Muhammad Hussain Abro. According to other sources however, the credit for establishing Makli as a holy place for worship and burial goes to the immigrant saint, poet and scholar Shaikh Hammad Jamali and the then local ruler, Jam Tamachi.[3] Another legendary person buried at Makli is the saint Pir Murad (1428-1488).
The tombs and gravestones spread over the cemetery are material documents marking the social and political history of Sind. Many have been build using a local sandstone, others are plastered brick buildings (which have suffered the most, generally). The impressive royal mausoleums are divided into two major groups, those from the Samma (1352–1520) and from the Tarkhan (1556–1592) period. In total four historical periods are represented architecturally, namely the Samma, the Arghun, the Tarkhan and the Mughals periods. The tomb (or maqbara) of the King Jam Nizamuddin II (reigned 1461–1508), is an impressive square structure built of sandstone and decorated with floral and geometric medallions. Similar to this is the mausoleum of Isa Khan Hussain II (d. 1651), a two-story stone building with majestic cupolas and balconies. In contrast to the synthetic architecture of these two monuments, which integrate Hindu and Islamic motifs, are mausoleums that clearly show the Central Asian roots of the Tarkhan and Moghul dynasties. An example is the tomb of Jan Beg Tarkhan (d. 1600), a typical octagonal brick structure whose dome is covered in blue and turquoise glazed tiles. Pavilion or canopy tombs (chattri maqbara or umbrella tomb) are another typical Indo-Islamic architectural feature, as well as enclosure tombs. the Moghul period is represented by many tombs on the southern side of the necropolis, including the mausoleum of Mirza Jani & Mirza Ghazi Baig, that of Nawab Shurfa Khan, the enclosure of Mirza Baqi Baig Uzbek and of Mirza Jan Baba as well as the impressive restored tomb of Nawab Isa Khan Tarkhan the Younger.
Today, Makli Hill is a United Nations World Heritage Site that is visited by both pilgrims and tourists, but in strong need of conservation and maintenance. The Tomb Shrine of THE MAMAIDEV is Located in eastern end of Makali Hill, The Mamaidev was a great Sufi Saint,Philosopher and Predictor of future incoming Events,Makali is pigrimage of Maheswary Kutchi Meghwar of Sindh and Kutch and Gujarat,The MAMAIDEV Nirvan or he sacrificed his life on 1389 A.D.at Tattha by Shama king Bahminah during the Shama Dynasty of Sindh,Jam Unadji and his son Bahminaha was the follower of the MAMAIDEV,THE Mamaidev Preached to King shama of Sindh and King Rao Navaghan a Rajpoot Dynasty of Junagadh Gujarat and Rajpoot Jethwa Kings and Dynasty of Ghumali Jamnagar Gujarat,many Pllgrimage are coming from Kutch and Gujarat during the Manth of Vaisak. Makali jo Mukam is the memory of the Great Mamaidev, Reference from mamaidev.vinzoda.in, 2010 flooding unfortunately added to the deterioration of the site.[4]

Julho é o mês das palestras dos artistas no programa transversal do projecto MUNDOS LOCAIS, incluindo o workshop- seminário SHARED WORLDS / Mundos Partilhados (25-27 Julho) sobre arte colaborativa e participatória, coordenado pela artista Mónica de Miranda e com a participação do curador da Tate Britain Paul Goodwin, do artista Faisal Adbu’Allah e da artista e co-curadora de Mundos Locais Paula Roush.
SHARED WORLDS/ Mundos Partilhados é tambem precedido pela conferência de Ricardo Valentim Growth and Culture com a antropóloga Rita D’Ávila Cachado (24 Julho), e seguido pela apresentacao dos artistas do LAC Laboratório de Artes Criativas (28-30 Julho), um colectivo que tem dinamizado a antiga prisão de Lagos), e um debate sobre a situação artística no Algarve moderado pela artista e académica Susana de Medeiros (29 Julho).
O mês finaliza com a conversa-workshop com a artista Melanie Jackson, autora do vídeo Global Positioning System (que faz parte da exposição Mundos Locais), acerca das suas técnicas de animação e modos de trabalho a partir das notícias (31 de Julho).

No seguimento da sua prática participativa, a artista Mónica de Miranda coordena um workshop com a duração de três dias juntamente com os artistas Faisal Adbu’Allah e Paula Roush e o teórico Paul Goodwin, onde se irão discutir as formas como a arte contemporânea em novos media e de performance se desenvolve a partir de relações de cariz criativo. Saindo do estúdio para uma rede de relações, os trabalhos dos artistas revelam um renovado interesse por espaços públicos, geografias urbanas e encontros pessoais, levantando um desafio: quanto da arte actual se baseia na arte do relacionamento?
O workshop e o seminário exploram os conceitos subjacentes à arte colaborativa e participativa e o intercâmbio cultural que acontece nestes encontros. Os workshops criam uma oportunidade para a partilha de estratégias de trabalho, enquanto que o seminário final proporciona uma perspectiva histórica e teórica acerca dos modelos da arte do relacionamento.
As sessões estão abertas a todos os interessados em discutir arte colaborativa e participativa, com oportunidade para os participantes de partilhar o seu trabalho. Não é necessária experiência anterior.

Como preparação para os workshops do segundo dia, os artistas apresentam os seus trabalhos, seguidos de conversas informais com os participantes e um exercício em grupo organizado por Faisal Adbu’Allah, chamado Story Chain.

Mónica de Miranda – Tuning in: o som do carro que é conduzido pela cidade e que transporta consigo amigos, enquanto se mistura o som do rádio e as conversas que se ouvem na rua. Ocasionalmente o carro pára em locais escolhidos e a representação continua, dando oportunidade à audiência para participar.
Faisal Adbu’Allah – Live Salon: O artista e barbeiro Faisal Adbu’Allah monta a sua própria barbearia ao vivo. “Cortando cabelo e barbeando enquanto vai desfiando histórias”. Faisal discute arte, a vida e cortes de cabelo com os clientes.
Paula Roush – Photo Studio: “A possibilidade da identidade per se ao exibir aquele momento de expectativa…” Duas vezes por ano, Lagos é palco do Festival dos Descobrimentos, em que figurantes vestem os fatos de personagens dos séculos XV e XVI, para representar os episódios históricos do Império Português. A colecção de trajes do Festival dos Descobrimentos, guardada no Centro Cultural de Lagos, é o ponto de partida para um projecto fotográfico que explora a relação da fotografia com performance e a mascarada.
Dia 3- Domingo, 27 de Julho, 21.00- 24.00
Modelos de empenhamento: o investigador Paul Goodwin apresenta a teoria onde assenta a arte do relacionamento, examinando os elos de ligação entre a sociedade e as práticas artísticas conceptuais e ilustrando com exemplos paradigmáticos. No fim, há uma discussão informal com os participantes.
