makes you beautiful to me.
Lyrics are from The Backstreet Boys "What Makes You Different"
I made this blend a WHILE ago, I forgot all about it :)
I was given a 7 hour time slot to paint this peice, The gate to the lot would lock up at 5 and I wasn't allow to stay and paint past business hours. Anyway, I showed up an hour late and painted my ass of for 6 hours. It was a real workout because of the scale, and my forearm felt like it was a wet noodle after. Although the time constraint helped with the 'deconstructive painting style, random 3d, hollow effects and negative spaces played a big role.
Enjoying the Weather POO cat sitting on the deck rail observing his surroundings, he loves outdoors and spends as much time there as he can. It makes him happy, he patrols the grounds of about 4 houses and the woods next to me, he does what he wants and my nearby neighbors treat him like there own, a spoiled rotten wannabe Ferrel cat!
"But I am normal, a normal freshwater ghoul who just wants to not make waves or go against the flow. I don't even remember what it's like to be a saltwater monster anymore. It seems like a dream... just a dream."
Waiting for the Dublin bus after shopping on a sunny day, sitting in between the pillars of Shamrock Chambers, she turns an ordinary pause into a moment of clever multitasking, using the front-facing camera as a make-up mirror.
With practiced grace, she applies a touch of lipstick, transforming a few idle minutes into a polished look that carries her confidently and beautiful through the day.
My job at the dv shelter. I had my FIRST BIG hotline call on Saturday, TWO HOURS long and it was AMAZING. I LOVE when I can help others. I will NEVER forget this particular call. Not only because it was my first REAL BIG one but also because the caller said several times, "You are going to make me cry". And he meant that in a nice way. The things I was saying to him really touched him and made him feel so good about himself. THAT makes me SO HAPPY and reconfirms my calling in social work.
My new job that I will be starting on the 21st. I am really looking forward to being a foster care case manager. It will be tough but I KNOW I belong with at risk children. It will be quite interesting going from a SAHM of over 5 years to working TWO jobs but I look forward to the change and challenge.

Taken with 100-400mm mk2 through one way glass window. I was well impressed with this lens which I bought for this trip. Sharp and very quick to focus, definitely a winner. Mark Molloy bought a Nikon 200-500mm which also proved to be a winner, zooms are a must for some subjects, when eagles open their wings at 12 metres distance 200mm is a must !!

I planted lantana in my backyard years ago and now I have a few neighborhood hummingbirds that visit on a daily basis. They have a routine that they follow and when they are feeding, I will see them circle around the neighborhood every few minutes.
I recently purchased a new 600mm lens and haven't had any luck finding wildlife to take pictures with it yet and decided to capture the neighborhood hummingbirds. It took me a few tries to get used to how the lens shoots and get the settings to where I could get some decent shots. After I was done shooting, my dad gave me some more advice that will make the next session even better.
These flowers were in a tree in my next-door neighbor's backyard. Today they were more interested in these flowers than my lantana. They were a pretty good distance away and I was very pleased with the way I was able to crop the image and keep the quality.
This year the Famous Flickr Five+ Group have decided to have a monthly challenge called “Freestyle On The Fifth”. A different theme chosen by a member of the group each month, and the image is to be posted on the 5th of the month.
This months theme, 'Makes me Smile', was chosen by Dave,
Thanks for your visits, kind comments and faves, very much appreciated.
Beneath the sky, beneath the moon
Silver streaks pierce the gloom
Rushes rustle in the breeze
Beside the river, slow with ease
A tranquil spot but hold, see
All it seems is not to be
under the surface peril lies
Though peaceful on the outward side
Raging currents running back
Emptiness turned to black
Boiling low the torrents fray
A defiant cry “come what may”
Attacking bank and cutting bed
Wounds opened, freely bled.
Inside the arena, a surprise
A stone, smoothed and polished lies
Not chipped or beaten in the fight
But beautiful and strong despite
A calm amid the raging storm
A shelter from the angry swam
Stoic and proud and straying ground
It is not broken, it is not drowned
So as I rest under this sky
As voices whisper “cry, baby, cry”
I shall not mourn though I’m alone
Instead, I shall make me this stone
The beginnings of my cranberry-apple casserole...... that I am asked ,politely, to make for all our holiday meals. :0)
Recipe: CRANBERRY-APPLE CASSEROLE
2-3 large cubed Granny Smith apples
1 bag (12 oz.) of cranberries
Add the two into a large mixing bowl and add....
lemon juice sprinkled over the mixture and
one cup of sugar, mix thoroughly, then place in a greased casserole dish.
In a small mixing bowl...add
1 cup of brown sugar
1 cup of quick oats (not instant) and
1-2 sticks of melted butter
Mix well and spread over the cranberry/apple mixture. Bake at 350 for 45-50 minutes.
This is wonderful served as a side with turkey and dressing or served as a dessert. If you try it....let me know how it turned out and if you enjoyed it. :0)
Don't be so familiar and so much into the details. Keep people dreaming. Close the window, and make them wonder.

Fountain Of Wealth
Supported by four 13.8 metres high bronze legs and spreading over an area of 1683.07 metres, the Fountain of Wealth has been accorded the status of "World's Largest Fountain" in the 1998 edition of the Guinness Book of Records. It is symbolically the ring in the palm of the hand, guaranteeing the retention of wealth. It is destined to be Singapore's most visited tourist destination.
The plaza would provide a large outdoor space for people to gather. But on its own, it would not achieve sufficient visual impact. A dramatic fountain was proposed as a visual focus. The Fountain Plaza, now the focal point of Suntec City, is also at the heart of the Marina Centre area. Not only is it the hub of circulation within the development, it also draws life from the surrounding buildings. This is why it sits off centre within Suntec City -so that it can be directly connected to its neighbours.
The flowing water from the Fountain is also a potent symbol as water is the essence of life in almost every culture. Located round this symbolic centre of life are the buildings which make up Suntec City. These buildings attract human activity - life - to the area. At ground level, vehicles flow around the fountain plaza while pedestrians flow into the buildings around it. Below ground, at the Fountain Terrace, all the buildings are interconnected by shops and restaurants. The complex is also connected to its neighbours by both underground and street-level pedestrian linkways.
