This morning I've taken the bike apart, cleaned and oiled it in
preparation for the Yorkshire Dales next week.
It's a dirty job of course, but the layer of old grease, oil and
general muck that had built up this summer has gone and bits that were
"gungy" are clean.
The bike is a Scott Roadster S1 frame and forks with S3 bits - due to
a partial upgrade when the frame started corrode in the guarantee
period. It's an alloy bike so pretty rigid. That's what I like about
it. I can feel the road and every ounce of effort reaches the wheels.
No suspension or flexing frame to absorb the power in between.
The sponsorship total online is now £1116 and I received an email this
morning telling me about another £100 that had come to the Riding
Lights Office. Thanks for your support.

This is the back side of the body storage in the morgue. There is an access panel to work on the cooling system. I guess it's better than laying on one's back on a tray.

Today I was helping out my dad with the lawn. With this piece of equipment it was so fun to do it, that I actually mowed the neighbour's lawn as well.
Water Main Maintenance

I was on my way to Sabin Point at lunch today when I noticed water pouring down all of the side streets leading to the park. That piqued my curiosity so I followed the flood back uphill until I came to this location. It turns out, the water company was flushing the water mains in the area as part of their annual cleaning. Talking to one of the workers that pulled up while I was taking this photo, it seems they do this purge annually to lower the bacteria levels in the main and also to flush any lead buildup in the pipes. Interesting concept, if nothing else.
Post processing started with a neutral filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, and boost black. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.
The view down the rolling hill from behind the cafeteria shows our maintenance buildings. This area also houses the climate controlled staff kennel, where employees can keep their personal dogs while at work.
