This is what a visitor sees when exits from the other side of the upper Antelope Canyon. I've made this photo for the second time after seven years and the result is almost the same; but this time I was more prepared to capture its stunning textures details; then I underexposed a little in order to capture all blue and purple hues that the sensor was able to register, maintaining the strong light coming from the outside. The result is something that I printed on a metal surface like aluminium in a vertical, supersaturated composition.

Don Quixote an impoverished nobleman who read way to much of honorable knight novels and therefore out for the world to maintain the novels ideals. Preload on the novels of chivalry, he sees why not the world for what it is and rides off on his old stallion Rosinante, with his squire, peasant Sancho Panza on donkey Rucio, with the objective to demonstrate chivalry so that he can win the love of his beloved Dulcinea ( from the Spanish word for 'sweet'). Dulcinea is the name Don Quixote imagined that she wears; Her real name is Aldonza. This is a pun; an old Spanish saying goes "We have no other so well, we Aldonza," which jokingly suggest that she is elected to the lady because no one else is getting.

Wood Warbler - Phylloscopus sibilatrix
The wood warbler (Phylloscopus sibilatrix) is a common and widespread leaf warbler which breeds throughout northern and temperate Europe, and just into the extreme west of Asia in the southern Ural Mountains.
This warbler is strongly migratory and the entire population winters in tropical Africa.
It is a summer visitor to the United Kingdom, seen from April until August. It has declined there in recent years. It is now very rare in Ireland, where only one or two pairs are recorded breeding in most years, usually in County Wicklow.
Various factors associated with forest structure, including slope, forest cover, proportion of broad-leaf forest, canopy height and forest edge length, all influenced the occupancy rates of this declining forest species. Conservation measures are therefore required that provide and maintain the wood warblers preferred forest structure. There is also a preference for forest in the non-breeding season, however this habitat is declining in wintering areas such as Ghana. Despite the decline in forest habitats, there has been no change in number of wood warblers as it appears that this species can use degraded habitats, such as well-wooded farms. However, further loss of trees will likely have a negative impact on this species in the future

Korestia is a historic region of Western Macedonia in Greece. It’s a cluster of mountain villages (Ano and Kato Kranionas, Halara, Ano and Kato Melas, Makrochori, Mavrokampos, Agios Antonios, Gavros) exhibiting strong architectural and cultural interest. The traditional architecture of the villages is great for the region of Western Macedonia. Old houses are constructed with handmade bricks with red clay and straw, giving a reddish color to the landscape. The construction of the houses was maintained until the mid-20th century and then abandoned.
Old houses always have vibes. This one was particularly interesting. It is maintained beautifully, but has some rather strange vibes coming off of it is in an area that could be very busy. It brings nothing to the area because it’s been closed for quite some time.. i’ve always thought when I see really interesting properties if walls could talk, what would they say? This house didn’t seem to be able to share. No one seems to know the story of the closures of every business that has tried to survive in this historic building. The only comments I obtained from a couple of locals is that the place is haunted and very creepy.. one lady shared a worker has been coming and going doing some restoration and his constant companion, a small, mixed breed dog stops, staring at the door, and refuses to go in even though her owner is in there. That is a curious thing. As the little dog is quite adventurous per the lady, and always accompanies him on all jobs . hmmm

The farmhouse Poggio Amorelli owned by the couple Adriana and Marco Mazzarrini is located in one of the most beautiful area in Chianti, near to the village of Castellina in Chianti and one of part of the wineyards are also in Maremma, near the village of Magliana in Tuscany.
It embraces 40 hectars land; 15 hectars of wineyard specialized in the production of Chianti Classico DOCG, Gallo Nero and of Morellino di Scansano DOCG.
The Wine production started in 1987, but only in 1995, with the restoration of the wine cellar and with the change in equipments for the wine production, the products started in receiving awards for its quality.
The wines are sold both on the national market as also in foreign countries, majority in Germany and USA. The aim of the Mazzarrini family is to grow in quality and not in quantity, to maintain the characteristics and the management of the family owned company, the only peculiarity to be different in a global market that push towards uniformity of traditions and tastes.
We had the option of renting one of the guest houses (the white house) fully equipped or the space in the campsite with an equipped kitchen area, bathroom with hot shower, laundry room, lighting a fire with firewood, seeing stars, Airbnb, etc. On the grounds of the well-structured and well-maintained property, there are several balconies to watch the sunset from rocking hammocks or wooden benches, a deck to see a stream and the possibility of reaching the crystalline waters through well-made trails, a part of the recovered Atlantic forest and original. The wifi works really well.
This inn is 2.8km (0.62 mile / 6 minutes) from the Pedra Menina (Stone Girl) gatehouse (Caparaó National Park) by car, in Espírito Santo State.
One of the owners, Thalles Vecce, gave us valuable tips and all kinds of help. He is really a good person.

As a car enthusiast I do like it when I see a shiny bodywork on a classic car. That means, well kept, well maintained and it usually shows that the owner actually likes what he's doing. However, some times, the old timers need to be seen with the touch of time on them. I found this old truck parked on the yard of a winery at the Finger Lakes in NY. It quickly drew my attention, sitting there like an old rusty fella having proudly served its cause by hauling loads of grapes and crates of good wines.

Beavertail State Park, Jamestown, Rhode Island
Lone herring gull with three black scoters, identifiable by the orange-yellow "knob" at the base of the bill, which look like faint orange-yellow bokeh balls at this aperture. The scoters were my real interest, but they maintained their distance while mocking me the whole time.
Elephants are among the most intelligent of the creatures with whom we share the planet, with complex consciousnesses that are capable of strong emotions. Across Africa they have inspired respect from the people that share the landscape with them, giving them a strong cultural significance. As icons of the continent elephants are tourism magnets, attracting funding that helps protect wilderness areas. They are also keystone species, playing an important role in maintaining the biodiversity of the ecosystems in which they live.
During the dry season, elephants use their tusks to dig for water. This not only allows the elephants to survive in dry environments and when droughts strike, but also provides water for other animals that share harsh habitats.
When forest elephants eat, they create gaps in the vegetation. These gaps allow new plants to grow and create pathways for other smaller animals to use. They are also one of the major ways in which trees disperse their seeds; some species rely entirely upon elephants for seed dispersal.
On the savannahs, elephants feeding on tree sprouts and shrubs help to keep the plains open and able to support the plains game that inhabit these ecosystems.
Wherever they live, elephants leave dung that is full of seeds from the many plants they eat. When this dung is deposited the seeds are sown and grow into new grasses, bushes and trees, boosting the health of the savannah ecosystem.
Sidenote: (This kind of digital art is certainly not one of my strengths, I don't use photoshop so cutting out the model to place into a background wasn't as easy as I thought. I still have much to learn with this but felt proud enough with what I had achieved to publish this with regards to the subject. Elephants face so many more threats than loss of habitat, as do many more wild life species.)

Sergey Tabachnikov (born April 17, 1987, Samara, USSR) - guitarist, musician, leader of the Nobody.one group. Without any musical education, he became one of the most popular guitarists in the country.
Tabachnikov plays compositions that are completely different in style. But critics and viewers alike agree that his work is nevertheless closer to instrumental and blues rock. He began playing the guitar at the age of 11. Sergei is self-taught, he does not advise others to use the services of teachers, believing that if you wish, you can learn to play on your own.
Sergey Tabachnikov, in addition to his musical career, maintains his blog on YouTube, in which he uploads reviews of guitars and accessories to them. The videos are very popular among both novice musicians and professionals due to their interesting presentation style and specific humor.
Sergey takes the performances of his group more than seriously. The funny guy from the video about guitars disappears somewhere and a professional musician appears on the stage who completely surrenders to playing the guitar.
The Nobody.one group is actively touring Russia and the CIS countries, participating in many festivals, including the invasion. However, speaking of popularity, unfortunately, the group is known only to a narrow circle of viewers, but we hope this situation will change soon, and the general public will learn about the talented guys and their leader!
The frontal portion of St. Vitus Cathedral situated within the Prague Castle complex. Great example of Gothic architecture and is the most important church in the Czech Republic. The present day cathedral was founded in 1344 and contains the chapel of St. Wenceslas where the relics of the Saint are kept. Some Renaissance and Baroque elements were later introduced as the building was completed. The cathedral is now owned and maintained by the Czech government.
Kinderdijk maybe a show for tourists and history lesson for Dutch kids but it also a home village for the 15 families that live in the mills leaving all but 4 of Kinderdijks 19 mills inhabited.
The park keeps two of the uninhabited windmills on display as museum exhibits and they are staffed by wooden clog wearing staff millers that give a fascinating overview of the innerworkings of the mills.
As fun and unique as living in an UNESCO site would be there is a practical purpose to the occupation of the mills in Kinderdijk and that is maintenance, the mill are much easier to maintain if they are kept functional and that requires someone to release the sails and run the machinery when the conditions require it.
The children of the mills are taught from a very young age to avoid the wind sails that may come as close as 30cm from the ground when in operation, these type of mills are called bonnet mills and the top portion rotates with wind direction.

I think so. This is a member of a free-ranging herd of several hundred Bison on Antelope Island in the Great Salt Lake that share grazing there with mule deer, pronghorn antelope and bighorn sheep. Twelve American bison were introduced on the island in the late 19th century, when the species was nearly extinct. They flourished in the near ideal habitat of dry grass prairie, devoid of apex predators (excepting man) and were maintained and hunted by private ranchers. In 1981 the State of Utah completed purchase of the island to create a state park. It is one of the few publicly managed herds of American bison, and one of the largest.
Owls are generally nocturnal hunters. Winter temperatures, however, require a much higher calorie intake to maintain body heat. This Owl would normally be sleeping at this time of day.
The hunt was successful.
I have maintained my social isolation in family and with professional work at home. Here in Brazil we are already with more than 13.000 deaths by Covid-19.

El Museo de Artes y Costumbres Populares de la ciudad de Sevilla (Andalucía, España) está localizado en la plaza de América del parque de María Luisa. Al otro lado de la plaza se encuentra el Museo Arqueológico. Fue el pabellón de Arte Antiguo de la Exposición Iberoamericana de 1929.
Fue planteado como pabellón de Industrias, Manufacturas y Artes Decorativas. Finalmente, se le llamó pabellón de Arte Antiguo e Industrias Artísticas. Se trata de un edificio proyectado en 1913 y construido en 1914 por el arquitecto Aníbal González, autor también de los otros edificios levantados en la misma plaza de América. The Museum of Arts and Popular Customs of Seville (Spanish: Museo de Artes y Costumbres Populares) is a museum in Seville, Andalusia, Spain, located in the María Luisa Park, across the Plaza de América from the Provincial Archeological Museum.
The museum occupies the Mudéjar Pavilion (Pabellón Mudéjar) designed by Aníbal González and built in 1914. It served as an art pavilion, the Pabellón de Arte Antiguo, for the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929, when Aníbal González had the opportunity to design several additional permanent buildings for the plaza. The exterior is ceramic over brick, and has three doors with archivolts adorned with glazed tiles (azulejos).[citation needed]
The building originally consisted of two stories over an aeration chamber (necessary because of the humidity). In the 1960s, the main floor, originally over 12 metres (39 ft) high, was divided in two, with an intermediate level added by architect Delgado Roig. In 1972, as part of the preparations for the current museum, the various stories of the building were connected by a grand spiral staircase designed by José Galnares Sagastizábal.
The museum was established by a decree of 23 March 1972, initially as a section of the Museum of Fine Arts of Seville. It opened its doors to the public 4 March 1973.[2] For the next seven years, the museum fell under the responsibility of the Ministry of Education and Science, but the city government occupied more than half of the poorly maintained building. Neither institution took full responsibility. This situation led to a series of temporary closures. In 1976, the electric bill could not be paid, and the museum had to be shut until it could get power again. In 1979, heavy rains damaged the interior.

There are many windpumps scattered around the Norfolk countryside and they were originally used to drain the land. They are in various states of decay and people often mistake them for windmills. This one at Horsey is on the broads not far from Winterton-on-sea and is maintained by the National Trust (NT)

Un couple de martins-pêcheurs élève normalement 2 nichées par an, voire 3 ou 4, si les conditions sont favorables ou si une nichée a été détruite.
La première ponte a lieu dès la mi-mars en Europe occidentale, un mois plus tard en Europe orientale. De 4 à 8 œufs sont pondus à un jour d'intervalle, à même le sol de la chambre de ponte. D'un beau blanc brillant et de forme presque sphérique, ils ont un diamètre moyen à peine supérieur à 2 cm et ne pèsent guère plus de 4 grammes.
Le couple se partage, à parts à peu près égales, le temps de couvaison et se relaie par factions de 2 à 5 heures. L'incubation dure trois semaines et ne commence qu'une fois le dernier œuf pondu ; les éclosions ont donc toutes lieu au même moment.
Nus à l'éclosion et incapables de maintenir leur température interne, les petits sont réchauffés par les adultes pendant une semaine, jusqu'à ce qu'ils se couvrent de courtes plumes. Les parents peuvent alors se consacrer tous deux à leur ravitaillement.
Les poissons apportés aux jeunes sont légèrement plus longs que ceux que les adultes capturent pour eux-mêmes : entre 4 et 7 cm, avec un maximum de 10 cm. Pendant la becquée, les petits, disposés en étoile à l'intérieur de la chambre, sont nourris chacun à son tour durant les deux à trois premières semaines. C'est l'époque où le sol du nid se couvre de leurs pelotes de réjection, et où les parents se baignent souvent. Un peu plus tard, les jeunes se tournent tous vers le boyau d'entrée, serrés les uns contre les autres, ou s'avancent dans le couloir à la rencontre des adultes.

A pair of kingfishers normally rear 2 broods a year, or 3 or 4, if conditions are favorable or if a brood has been destroyed.
The first spawning takes place in mid-March in Western Europe, a month later in Eastern Europe. From 4 to 8 eggs are laid one day apart on the floor of the laying chamber. They are bright white in color and almost spherical in shape. They have an average diameter of just over 2 cm and weigh little more than 4 grams.
The couple share, roughly equally, the brooding time and relays in factions from 2 to 5 hours. The incubation lasts three weeks and begins only once the last egg laid; hatching therefore takes place at the same time.
Naked at hatching and unable to maintain their internal temperature, the young are warmed by adults for a week, until they cover themselves with short feathers. Parents can then devote themselves to their food.
The fish brought to the young are slightly longer than those that the adults catch for themselves: between 4 and 7 cm, with a maximum of 10 cm. During the beak, the little ones, arranged in a star inside the chamber, are each fed during the first two to three weeks. It is the time when the ground of the nest is covered with their balls of rejection, and where the parents bathe often. A little later, the youths all turn to the inlet hose, huddled together, or walk down the hallway to meet the adults.

TSS Duke of Lancaster is a former railway steamer passenger ship that operated in Europe from 1956 to 1979, and is beached at Llannerch-y-Mor Wharf near Mostyn Docks, on the River Dee, in north Wales. She replaced an earlier 3,600-ton ship of the same name operated by the London Midland and Scottish Railway company between Heysham and Belfast.
Along with her sister ships the TSS Duke of Rothesay and the TSS Duke of Argyll, she was amongst the last passenger-only steamers built for British Railways.
From the mid-1960s, passenger ships such as Duke of Lancaster were gradually being superseded by car ferries. Rather than undertake the expensive option of renewing their entire fleet, British Railways instead began a part-programme of conversion. In order to maintain ferry services whilst these modifications took place, Duke of Lancaster's duties as a cruise ship ceased.. On 25 April 1970 the ship returned to service, having had her main deck rebuilt to accommodate vehicles via a rear door at her stern. The ship now provided space for 1,200 single-class passengers and 105 cars, with a total cabin accommodation for 400 passengers
I stood at the summit of Pico Paraná, the highest peak in southern Brazil, and gazed out at the breathtaking panorama below. The sun was shining brightly, but the air was crisp and cold. I took a deep breath and prepared myself for the descent.
The trail down was steep and treacherous, with loose rocks and exposed cliffs. I carefully picked my way down, using my hands and feet to maintain my balance. The climb had been exhausting, but the descent was even more challenging.
After what seemed like an eternity, I reached the base of the mountain. I was exhausted and covered in sweat, but I had made it. I looked back up at the peak, feeling a sense of accomplishment.
I had always dreamed of climbing Pico Paraná, and now I had done it. It was an experience that I would never forget.

The barracks were built between 1717 and 1721 by Nicholas Hawksmoor for the Board of Ordnance to protect the town during the Jacobite risings. The work, which involved two parallel blocks of military accommodation, was supervised by Captain Thomas Phillips. An additional block was added between 1739 and 1741. After the Napoleonic Wars the barracks were abandoned but put back into use in the 1850s.
Following the Childers Reforms, the barracks became the depot of the King's Own Scottish Borderers, who arrived from Fulford Barracks in July 1881. The regiment moved out of the barracks in 1963 and they are now maintained by English Heritage.

The 'Sand Motor' is a unique experiment. An artificial peninsula of sand should automatically maintain the beaches up north. The idea is that the Gulf Stream moves the sand up north, a slow process that is carefully monitored by this pole. Notice the tiny figure underneath.
