Those who follow me for a while might remember that I can't abide that Halloween thingy. Tried to build a spooky, ramshackle house but I couldn't find the leisure and peace of mind to get into it, so here's a slightly lame picture.
As this pro tempore rig has no card reader (and I'm not sure if my new one will have a means to connect it on the mainboard) this is about the newest you will get for a while. From now on it's either pics from the archive or made with the mobile phone. I'll try my best to keep the Toy Project running.

Endlich kann ich meine Bilder von vor 3 Wochen bearbeiten. Da mein PC durch ein Defektes Mainboard und Prozessor ausser gefecht gesetzt war, mussten diese nun so lange warten. Hier waren wir in den Affensteinen und fotografierten den Sonnenaufgang in den Zschand hinein. Zu sehen die Lorenzsteine

I took a Joel Grimes Workshop in Phoenix, Arizona on February 20-21, 2016. Joel Grimes did all the lighting setup for all the shoots and then each photographer basically went in to take our shots with each model. This is Bryce Gressley, she was a seasoned model who needed no direction in terms of posing, but each photographer had the chance to ask for certain poses. I asked Bryce if she could whip her hair around, and this is what I captured. Very little post-processing was done on this image. The workshop was held at a local photography studio called Parkwood Photography Studios run by Nicholas Pappagallo Jr. All website links to all those involved are listed below.

At present, I am pretty busy doing geek stuff :-) The photo shooting, I had planned, didn't work out... what a pity.
So this is my nude 64. It is a Commodore C64 mainboard, which I have bought from ebay to have some repair fun. It is working now, the only thing, I am still missing is the SID (sound chip). I want to insert a modern replacement for that.
So, sorry for not posting any images, no bare naked ladies, etc.

It seems I'm online again, with an old, barely running rig. Not only my mainboard died, but it seems to have affected the hard disk too - on booting it always wants to repair it. I pulled the plug after it had deleted 35k files - cannot say what's missing, my backups never were really good.
Waiting for my daughter to get a new computer, so that I can use her old one.
Toy Project Day 3014
Im Winter 2017/2018 hatte ich als Focus Stacking Winterprojekt für “Elektronik im Dunkeln” entschieden. Elektroschrott habe ich so einiges… Dieses Jahr zerlege einfach Elektroschrott, der uns im Stich gelassen hat. Da ich mit weißem Hintergrund damals angefangen habe, letztes Jahr farbig war, passt es diesmal sehr gut, das ich einfach schwarz als Hintergrund gewählt habe.
Auch nutze ich wieder meine Canon EOS 6D mit dem Canon EF 100mm 2,8L IS USM Makro Objektiv, Tabletop/Fototisch von Kirschner und meine kleine Studioblitzanlage von Elinchrom mit diversen Lichtformern und Softboxen. Als Software für die Aufnahmen ist Helicon Remote und später zum verarbeiten Helicon Focus und Lightroom.

Und warum sieht man die CPU, ohne Wärmeleitpaste, statt dem Lüfter? Weil mein Sorgenkind heute sein zweites Ersatzmainboard bekommen hat. Und mit dem Technikereinsatz heute hatte ich noch so etwas Glück. Zwischenzeitlich wurde der 2021-12-28 als Lieferdatum für das Mainboard genannt.
Jetzt muss ich diesem hässlichen Windows nur noch erklären, welche SSDs es wie nutzen darf ...
Ich hoffe, dass bald ein Foto mit, statt von, dieser Workstation, mit Helicon Focus zusammengerechnet wurde oder wenigstens aus dem RAW-Konverter kommt.

Heute wurde ich gleich zwei mal überrascht. Als erstes wurde ich von dieser Dame überrascht und so kam es dazu. Ich stand heute in der Mittagspause in der Hamburger Innenstadt vor dem Levantehaus am Eingang einer kleinen Passage. Ich schaute mir von dort die vorbeigehenden Personen an und überlegte mir einen netten Spot im Umkreis von drei, vier Metern, wo ich die Person dann fotografieren würde. Ein freundliches “Hallo” kam von hinten und ich drehte mich um. Während meines “nach dem Spot suchen”, bemerkte ich nicht wie ich mich langsam vor den Eingang der Passage bewegte und somit diesen versperrte. Ich entschuldigte mich natürlich und wollte gerade einen Schritt zur Seite gehen da sah ich erst wie toll diese Frau aussah und dazu dieser tolle Hintergrund. Ich stelle mich mit einem breiten Grinsen wieder in den Weg und erzählte ihr was ich Tag ein Tag aus so mache. Sie war von dem Projekt und dieser Idee sehr angetan und stellte sich sofort zur Verfügung.
Die zweite Überraschung kam so gegen 17:00 Uhr, als mich der Computer-Techniker anrief und mir sagte das der Rechner jetzt laufen würde. Fehlerdiagnose: das MSI-Mainboard war defekt – toll. Dafür “rennt” der Rechner jetzt und es macht Spaß 600 RAW als 16bit Tiffs zu exportieren und nebenbei noch in Photoshop Bilder zu retuschieren. Juhu.

So nun das Bild von Heute. Und der heutige Tag fängt genau so an wie der gestrige aufgehört hatte. Wie ich gestern auf Facebook schon geschrieben hatte, habe ich einen neuen Prozessor und ein neues Mainboard gekauft, damit die Bildbearbeitung schneller geht und ich nicht so viele “Ladebalken” in Lightroom und Photoshop mehr sehen muss. Soweit die Theorie. Nachdem ich dann zu Hause alles ausgebaut und die neuen Teile eingebaut hatte, wollte ich gerade die Speicher einsetzten. Dabei ist mir dann aufgefallen, das meine alten Speicherriegel (DDR2) nicht mehr aufs neue Board passen (DDR3). Heute morgen dann, bin ich gleich zum örtlichen Händler und habe mir passenden Speicher gekauft. Voller Vorfreude auf das neue System habe ich diesen dann gleich eingebaut und… nichts. Es ist ja nicht so, dass ich zum ersten mal einen Rechner konfiguriere, aber ich war mit meinem Latein wirklich am Ende. Das Ende vom Lied ist, der Rechner steht beim Techniker und wird in den nächsten Tagen “fertig” gemacht. Nun aber zum Bild.
Ab heute findet wieder das “Hamburger Alstervergnügen” statt und das zieht viele Touristen an. So auch mein heutiges Model. Ein Bayer, ein echter Bayer zu Besuch in Hamburg. Für mich ist es immer wieder erstaunlich, wie unterschiedlich Dialekte sein können, denn ich habe zum Teil nicht viel verstanden was er sagte – zum Spaß natürlich.

2. The next computer is actually my main computer I work with. It has a Q6600 CPU @ 2.7 Ghz, a ASUS P5N-E SLI mainboard, 4GB DDR2 800 RAM, a EVGA 9800 GTX graphics card, a Creative XFI soundcard, a Zalman CNPS 9500 CPU cooler and is running Vista home premium 64bit (Yea I know... Vista... My next computer will be a Mac ;) )
3. On top of the last computer is my new MacBook with T8300 CPU at 2.4 Ghz, 2GB DDR2 800, running Mac OS/X Leopard.
4. The next computer with the silver/blue case is my server. It has a ASUS DSBV-D mainboard, two Xeon E5345 Quadcores, 8GB DDR2 667 FB DIMMs with ECC and it is running Fedora 8. This is the server my website is hosted on... ;-)
5+6 The next two crunchers are two 40GB PS3s. One running Yellow Dog Linux 6, the other one still running YDL 5.1...
7. And my last cruncher has a ASUS P5N32-E SLI mainboard, 2GB DDR2 800 RAM, a Q6600 CPU @2.7 Ghz, a Gainward 8800 GT graphics card, and it is running Ubuntu 7.10 64 bit.
