Have a safe and magnificent day dear Flickr friends !!!!

COVID killed my travel schedule, and politics brought to mind these interesting birds that make a leaving stealing food from hardworking species like boobies, tropic birds, and each other. Galapagos, Ecuador. Breeding male, inflated sac

As I work in the garden I always keep the camera handy, as you never know what you'll disturb and see. I was rewarded this time with this Small Magpie Moth (Anania hortulata) that flew out from some weeds and landed on our stone wall, with its wings outstretched to show their full beauty.

…….And the Larch ascending behind it. The morning sun on the Magnolia was a delight to see today so I made it my #085 shot of the day, taken on my phone in Apple RAW and edited in Lightroom. Alan:-)

Tourists are everywhere at the Treasury (Al-Khzneh).

The Treasury (Al-Khazna). A vast structure and magnificent architecture are Petra's main site attractions.

Established possibly as early as 312 BC as the capital city of the Nabataeans, it is a symbol of Jordan, as well as Jordan's most-visited tourist attraction. It lies on the slope of Jebel al-Madhbah (identified by some as the biblical Mount Hor in a basin among the mountains that form the eastern flank of Arabah (Wadi Araba), the large valley running from the Dead Sea to the Gulf of Aqaba. It is believed that Petra was home to roughly 30,000 people and was abandoned in the year 106 A.D. Site has been a UNESCO World Heritage since 1985.

I captured this magnificent view of the Eiffel Tower when the lights would sparkle at the top of each hour. Hand held photo shot (set on a ledge) from the Trocadéro Gardens, the Tower reflected in the Trocadéro Gardens reflecting pool. The École Militaire seen through the bottom of the tower and on the left along the horizon is the illuminated dome of Les Invalides. Such an amazing city and some wonderful memories. I love Paris ! !

Now known as Rivoli's Hummingbird thanks to a split. Madera Canyon.

For 2 years, I have seen this tree from the road, wanting to take a picture of it, and now finally I found time and the path that lead me to it.

Photo of Michigan Avenue from the balcony of my room at The Gwen in Chicago. Using a NiSi Natural Night filter and a Canon 16-35 f/4L IS lens (with IS turned off of course).

Although not my finest photo, it at least shows what an adult male MH is supposed to look like.

Human visitors appear tiny against the size of the palace buildings inside the Agra Red Fort. They are representative palace buildings from the time of Shah Jahan. While Akbar built predominantly with red Barauli sandstone from the Dholpur region in what is now Rajasthan, Shah Jahan preferred white marble with decorations made of glass and semi-precious stones as a building material. The Red Fort was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1983.

Im Innern des Agra Roten Forts befinden sich Palastbauten sowie Moscheen und Gärten. Die Besucher erscheinen winzig im Gegensatz zu den repräsentative Palastbauten aus der Zeit Shah Jahans. I

I took this photo in 1987 with my classic analogue Nikon FE camera, and Njkkor lens 24mm f1: 2.8, and 35mm Kodachrome slide film. Later I digitalised the til material, using a Nikon Coolscan LS 40ED film scanner the edited in Photoshop Lr

“There is mystery behind that masked gray visage, and ancient life force, delicate and mighty, awesome and enchanted, commanding the silence ordinarily reserved for mountain peaks, great fires and the sea.”

The Asian elephant (Elephas maximus) is the largest living land animal in Asia. Since 1986, the Asian elephant has been listed as Endangered on the IUCN Red List, as the population has declined by at least 50 percent over the last three elephant generations, which is about 60–75 years. It is primarily threatened by loss of habitat, habitat degradation, fragmentation and poaching. In 2019, the wild population was estimated at 48,323-51,680 individuals. Female captive elephants have lived beyond 60 years when kept in semi-natural surroundings, such as forest camps. In zoos, Asian elephants die at a much younger age; captive populations are declining due to a low birth and high death rate.

I'll bet you actually counted them!

Seen roaming in the White Horse Hills, Oxfordshire. This eye-level shot makes them appear a little more menacing than their true character normally shows.
