Magnificent Maple
Not sure how old this maple tree is on the road where I grew up in Fife Lake, Michigan. It’s been there as long as can remember and it’s color display this year is spectacular. Even after the snow/rain storm it’s still hanging onto most of it’s leaves. 🍁

Many thanks to all who take the time to view, comment and favoring my images. Enjoy the day.

It's a bit late to be posting fall colors, but after a little time off from Flickr I realized I still had this shot which I never shared, so I figured better late than never. It's also kind of nice for me to look back on this one and remember what a pleasant surprise McGee Creek ended up being. While many other locations in the Sierras were all over the place as far as which trees were peaking where and when, McGee creek really came through and put on a magnificent display. As always, thank you for viewing/faving/commenting! I definitely appreciate it.
I came across this magnificent bird about 3 years ago, while looking for wildlife in the North State of California. I could hardly believe my eyes when I saw him, off in the distance. I tried hard to get close enough to him I could get a photo for proof that I'd actually seen such a bird. But try as I may, it wasn't to be that year.
However, last year I saw him again, if it was the exact same bird, I don't know. But I got the proof I was looking for in spades. I was able to take photos of him with 2 different camera's and lenses. Here then is but one of those photo's. Taken with the ever trusty Nikon D7200 and the 500mm f/5.6 lens. I love the older D7200, it's still one of my favorite camera's. Proof you don't have to spend a hundred thousand dollars on equipment to get really great shots of wildlife.

This magnificently graceful bird of prey is unmistakable with its reddish-brown body, angled wings and deeply forked tail. It was saved from national extinction by one of the world's longest-running protection programmes. It has now been successfully re-introduced to England and Scotland. Red kites are listed under Schedule 1 of The Wildlife and Countryside Act. What they eat: Mainly carrion and worms, but opportunistic and will occasionally take small mammals (Courtesy RSPB).
Thanks for viewing my photos and for any favourites and comments, it’s much appreciated 👍
