an der Pier vom Cruises Center Warnemünde fest gemacht gesehen.

These Inula magnifica plants at Colclough Walled Garden never fail to impress. They are huge, well over 7ft tall which gives a sense of scale as to how high the wall which shelters them is. Happy Wall Wednesday!

Now we’re going back in time. The Nikon D80 was my first digital camera.

 

The Episcopal Cathedral of St. Philip in Atlanta, Georgia. My wife used to have meetings up there on a regular basis. So I’d go with her and take pictures while she did whatever it is they did.

 

To be in this sacred building, by myself, with all this light pouring in really was magnificent.

Wohlfahrtia magnifica,or spotted flesh fly, sometimes called the screwworm fly, though species of flies from other families can go by this name. It is a species of fly belonging to the family Sarcophagidae. The adults are about 6–10 mm in length.

"Parodia magnifica ( family Cactaceae), native to southern Brazil. One of several species called ball cactus, it grows to 7–15 cm tall by 45 cm broad, with heavily ribbed, spherical to columnar, spiny and hairy stems, bearing pale yellow flowers in summer. Its natural habitat is cool, dry temperate grassland at elevations of up to 800 m. Populations are sparse and fragmented, and it has been designated as “Endangered” by the IUCN Red List.

 

It has gained the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit."
