The Magic Roundabout Swindon. It seems to be the most Famous place in my home town.People from out of town seem scared of it.The locals that use think it works really well.

An oldie but a goodie! Do you remember this show it was a really quirky stop frame animation show for kids with weird trippy drug overtones. Had some awesome characters and was really bizarre to watch. It always started and ended with The Magic Roundabout spinning round and that music.

Anyhoo, this is a tribute to that with a picture of the key character doodle the dog!

This must be the scariest roundabout ever!

The (rather poorly-received) movie version of trippy 70's on-before-the-BBC-evening-news French animation, The Magic Roundabout, has been re-dubbed for America.

Some of the (mostly piss-poor ex- or current-SNL) vocal talents are horrendous. Whoopi Goldberg as Emintrude? Jimmy motherfuckin' Fallon as Dylan?!?

(Jim Broadbent vs William H Macy as Brian, on the other hand, is too close to call)

But worst of all is the bastardisation of Dougal's name for the movie's title. Clearly America is a little *too* hooked-on-phonics.

It's tough being a snail.

Alan says that he thought Dylan would be the first one of the Magic Roundabout characters to die, given his lifestyle of drug use and lack of exercise.

The magic roundabout is how the locals in Hemel Hempstead refer to this crazy collection of roundabouts.

The RAF 8 squadron AEW (airborne Early Warning) Shacks were all named after childrens programmes.

Dougle was from the Magic Roundabout (or Le Manège enchanté) French tv programme created by Serge Danot and read by Eric Thompson in the UK version.

Taken with my lovely, if somewhat idiosyncratic Supersampler - 4 lenses take 4 shots onto 1 negative over 2 seconds. Completely plastic, no control whatsoever and no viewfinder - you just wave it about and hope for the best!
