no idea what this was, but there were several of them scampering around the vegetation during the spring and they were so tiny and continuously in motion that it was a fun challenge to utilize all my extension tubes and capture one relatively in-focus

quite a difference between the top and underside of the wings - can't see the brilliant blue when they're upright, though the markings are quite impressive

it's always a challenge when i spot one of these little insects - the ones i find are so small, usually obscured in part, and then they don't remain still, which makes it difficult to get a close-up capture w/ enough of the body, limbs and spikes in focus to make a decent photo

 

still haven't been able to get a shot that i am altogether pleased with, but this one is better than any others attempted this year
