I figured I would take an ugly little flower and spray it with dark liquid...making it even uglier. But, in the end, I really like the result.

“Convergent Evolution”

Some insects are as big as small birds.

“The hummingbird hawk-moth” is a species of hawk moth found across temperate regions of Eurasia. The species is named for its similarity to hummingbirds, as they feed on the nectar of tube-shaped flowers using their long proboscis while hovering in the air; this resemblance is an example of convergent evolution.

Die Tiere kommen in Nordafrika und fast ganz Europa vor.

I was setting up to photograph this beautiful slime mould (I think Metatrichia floriformis?) when a woodlouse appeared! It gave me a bit of a fright as it looks huge through the lens compared to the slime. I thought it made for a nice shot.

The most beautiful we can always see in the smallest things.
