There was certainly no lack of choice, as I keep lots of different ribbons from presents etc in a box to use them again for my presents. But I got lost in taking pictures of the first piece of ribbon that I found - a rather wide and shiny copper - coloured one that turned out to be a very interesting foto model, showing very different characters with changing light and background. We were really sort of good partners with me, always doing that macro work totally open-ended, without an exact plan, just experimenting and looking for interesting outcomes and that ribbon changing forms, showing all sorts of copper tones or fiery reflections, depending on the light and background I used.
I liked more than one of the resulting macros and found it hard to choose, especially because I had wanted to leave my comfort zone of golden sparkles and Bokeh and finally do a clear and elegant - looking 'less-is-more' (eventually away from f 2.8 ;).
What you see is a compromise - a narrow sharp area and that dissolving into the more misty part.

7 pounds in 1895 would be worth about 875 pounds in 2020.
Wooden Butterfly
Happiness is like a butterfly which,
When pursued, is
Always beyond our grasp,
But which, if you will sit down quietly,
May alight upon you

#Cogwheel
An assembly of tiny toy cogwheels for modeling, exclusively bought for the theme. I had once bought a small bag of steampunk cogwheels for a previous cogwheel theme but have put these away so securely that I couldn't find them on the fly. Well, back then, I also only had one box of MM props whereas nowadays... The good thing is that I know they are somewhere. This setup isn't as elaborate as the previous one (please see the first comment) but I liked its simplicity and focused on nicely arranging the plastic thingies and on a clear reflection (I'd placed the cogwheels on a black, glossy tile).
Focus stacking once again yielded the best results, and combining the 15 ORFs in Helicon Focus also gave me a more pleasant and more detailed-looking result than the in-camera stacked Jpg. Helicon method: B, R7, S3. The main light source was the natural light photo lamp from above.
