新一代設計展中傑出的作品

They are doing construction on my road the next few days and there are strange machine vehicles parked everywhere....

The machine completely reassembled and working

This enigmatic early twentieth century computing machine is in the window of the J. Ville Tavern in Jacksonville, Oregon.

What does it do? I don't know, so I'd welcome your thoughts.

Old coal mine in Belgium.

Although not a very good picture , this is one of the first machine tools I ever operated. Strangely enough the drill spindle is almost invisable near the tool rack. This can be moved left and right along the arm which itself can be pulled or pushed to and fro until the drill is above the hole to be drilled.

There ! Now you know all about it!

Until recently we really never have had pelicans around here. Now when you look up in the sky you think you are in Florida!

Up close and personal they really are weird looking. The punked hair-like feathers on their heads, the long bill, and that fabulous pouch make for a comical being. But, oooh, can they glide through the air and can they ever catch fish.

Local fisherman claim that they are decimating the fish populations. They sure take their share, but the jury is out on how much damage they are really doing.

I made this image on an island that contains thousands of pelicans, egrets, gulls, egrets, geese, and herons. It was a feast for my eyes, but a bad day for my nose. Get downwind of all that poop and you hurry to get upwind.

Tres little Wash Machines...

Sitting there apparently clean,

one in the front,

and two in the back,

Can you guess what they do lack...

Tres little cords all rest in fray,

the ends little bunnies munch away,

out of order,

do not use,

What could possibly be their ruse...

Tres little windows dirty and thick

reflecting the grass and the sticks,

bench in shade,

flowers in bloom,

Where is the laundry room...

This was one of the oddest vending machines I've seen. Not in design but in selection of items. An Epcot Center doohicky, a faux Old West leather wallet, condoms, Confederate flag crap, candy.

Given the lovably eccentric owner of the joint (Randy Senna), it makes sense.

Claire wrote a story about Wildwood last year that has a sidebar about Mr. Senna.

Machine Head opening for Metallica at the Verizon Center in Washington, DC on January 15, 2009.

I got wet. It was well worth it for this shot. After he chucked a water bottle into the crowd and then violently slammed down his mic stand shortly afterwards, I decided this was clearly the dude to follow and I pretty much ignored all the other band members. Unfortunately he didn't too much else that was totally crazy.

Please do not use without permission (just ask!).

A vending machine in Kawagoe, Saitama. I like the fact that it was themed in such a way to represent the city. I saw this one near the statue of Ota Dokan, a short walk from Hikawa shrine and the "Bell of Time."
