This is my scratchbuild I.N.S.S. MacArthur, a spacecraft from the Larry Niven / Jerry Pournelle book "The Mote in God's Eye". It was signed by Larry Niven when I brought it to a convention.

BART "A" car 1230 departs MacArthur on the rear of a train for Berryessa in North San Jose. Despite being a regular BART rider while living in the Bay Area, I rarely railfanned it at the time. But on this return visit, with my SLR in my bag on most days and knowing that the legacy fleet was on borrowed time, I made an effort to get some shots around the system.

I hate to say this, but back in 1968, I liked "MacArthur Park" by Richard Harris. So, when I was visiting LA and noticed that the Metro Red Line had a Westlake/MacArthur Park Station, I had to visit the park.

As I walked through the park, I kept singing the song to myself and imaging where in the park the 'crazy' lyrics fit.

This is actually a good shot. I caught the pigeon food midair as well as a few pigeons taking flight.

That being said, perhaps she will eventually pick a few up for 'birds like tender babies in your hand.'

This is a route under construction. It has been planned during occupation of Japan and known as MacArthur Road.
