My MacBook Air came yesterday. Here are some photos.

What if you are a Nikon fanboy and don't want a tattoo? This is the next best thing ;)

On January 7 (a week before the keynote) I received a mailing by Visa, in which I could win a MacBook if I choose Visa Online (Dutch). The folder was shaped as a MacBook, but I immediately associated it with the to-be-announced MacBook Air. Apple came pretty close in Thinnovation, but the Visa is a bit too sexy. Especially with the uncalled for bikini shot.

In order to carry out a successful Macbook U8000 switch repair the component had to be replaced and S4/S5 power state switching capability restored.

so there it is - a revelation, if not even a revolution. the macbook air is just 0.76 inches thick and still it's a complete, full power ultra-portable laptop. of course, you can already get amazing laptop skins for the macbook air at www.laptopskins.net - order any laptop skin in a custom size of 12.6 x 8.7 inches and it will fit your brandnew macbook air perfectly.

This box is ridiculously thin.

There is some discussion about MacBook gaposis. I thought I'd document mine. The machine has performed perfectly for me for about ten days, so I'm reluctant to take my chances on repair/replacement, but it has noticable gaps in three places: The left and right edges of the keyboard platform, and the top of the screen bezel above the iSight. And I figure that if this is a manufacturing defect, it's better to get in on it early rather than late, before it worsens. So it's shipping back to get checked out.

My old MacBook Pro was always covered in stickers. It was something that happened naturally, and given a choice of having a Mac with or without stickers, mine would always be with. It reflects my quirky character. The only trouble was though that when it came to getting around to preparing my Macbook Pro so I could sell it on eBay, the stickers were an absolute biatch to get off as some of the stickers were paper ones (as opposed to vinyl ones) and they're always the worst to remove. In the end, I had to get Mike to do it with some special solvent thing he had for cleaning computer equipment. Clever cat.

My current MacBook has stayed sticker-free for about 6-7 months (I think I bought it in March). This has niggled a little at me though, as I've wanted to stick things on it, but I can't be arsed with the hassle of removing the stickers afterwards. Then I found something called GelaSkins – my friend from work had used them on her iPod, and it turned out they had designs for MacBooks, phones, PSPs and DS, so I had a look for them on UrbanRetro. I eventually found a design I liked and that was colourful enough for me by somebody called tokidoki (who also designs and sells collectible vinyl toys which my friend Sam collects).

The best thing about this stuff, besides being made from vinyl, was that it uses 3M Controltac, which for those of you who haven't worked in graphic design or reprographics; it is a low-tack adhesive that's sticky enough to stick things down, but it can be easily removed and doesn't leave marks. This was important for me not just for convenience, but I wanted to cutout some of the vinyl so that the Apple logo wasn't diffused or covered by the design, and this required me to apply the vinyl to trace around the apple, remove it and put it back on its paper backing to cut it out, and then re-apply.

Now that it's all stuck down, I love it! :)

the macbook is week 46 production series. cracks have appeared and the tell-tale bulging is occurring along the left side of the macbook.

Sold my old MacBook 12 2015, but this year went all the way up.

Opted for the M7 1.3 with the 512 SSD early 2016

If you ask me if the price is logic?

No not at all, I see this machine as my little beauty.

I use the MacBook 12 essentially for configuring network hardware outside my office, and for that use is perfect.

It’s a little faster than my last year 12 inch.

For the price you could buy a better MacBook no doubt on that, but for the type of use I need for this MacBook, this is the perfect machine for me.

One purchase from the heart not from the mind.

The sacred heart lights up.

Mac computers and especially MacBooks they are my favorite portables, Not only because they are cute and powerful, but because they are a part of my everyday life for years.
