The Iulia Hasdeu Castle is a folly house built in the form of small castle by historian and politician Bogdan Petriceicu Hasdeu in the city of Câmpina, Romania. Work on it began in 1893, after Hasdeu's daughter, Iulia Hasdeu, died at the age of 19, an event that dramatically shook and changed Hasdeu's life. He claimed that his belated daughter provided the plans for building the castle during sessions of spiritism. The building was completed in 1896.

A sunset that indicates a feeling of contemplation of the dimension of the sacred.

Inspired by one of the absolute best landscape photographers Enrico Fossati and his dark processing technique. Check it out on his website www.enricofossati.it/instruction, if you are interrested. This year the treck to the Refugio Antonio Locatelly (Drei Zinnenhuette), which you can see in the photo, was still closed when I was there in mid-June, so I was a bit disappointed. I had planned to stay there overnight for some days to really enjoy this wonderful area. Anyhow , I really had a wonderful morning, all by myself at the Forcella Lavaredo (paternsattel). Hope you like the outcome.

Stroll through the Barri Gòtic and after passing under the Pont del Bisbe, if you're lucky, on the left a gate is temporarily open to an inner courtyard. Soft light, some stone arches, a staircase decorated with a lion and a nymph playing her lyre in the shade of a small tree create an evocative mood.

In reality, and despite its name, several landmark buildings in the Gothic Quarter do not date to the Middle Ages. Rather, in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the quarter was completely transformed from a sombre neighborhood to a tourist attraction through a massive restoration project, timed to be completed for the 1929 International Exhibition. This allowed the city and the surrounding region of Catalonia to portray itself in a positive light to the world's media. Further, restoration of existing buildings and the creation of brand new neo-Gothic structures continued as late as the 1960s.

On a rainy day in the Gemsteltal, a small sidearm of the Kleinwalsertal

a breathtaking view, a place full of history and charm of the past and mysticism. It was a real surprise. Italy is truly full of wonderful places

This monument is a symbol of Piedmont Region and a place that inspired the writer Umberto Eco to conceive the best-seller “Il nome della rosa” ( The name of the rose ) , the Sacra of San Michele is an ancient abbey built between 983 and 987 on the top of mount Pirchiriano, 40 km from Turin. From it’s towers you can admire Turin and a breathtaking view of the Val di Susa. Inside the main Church of the Sacra, dating from the twelfth century, are buried members of House of Savoy (one of the oldest royal family in the world).

Dedicated to the worship of the Archangel Michele, defender of the Christian people, the Sacra di San Michele fits inside a ruote of pilgrimage (long over 2000 km) wich runs from Saint-Michel ( France ) to Monte Sant’Angelo (Puglia).

The history, the spiritual value and the landscape that sorrounds it trasform the Sacra in a special destination for visitors from all over Europe: pilgrims, faithfuls, tourists but also athletes who want to test themselves with climbing paths or mountain-bike.

The Sacra di San Michele offers to its public guided tours and events during all months of the year.

The Lower Austrian Waldviertel is a place full of mysticism and places of power and also offers a lot of unusual photo motifs.

Besides the Great Globe, there are sacrificial stones, huge wobbling stones, and even an impressive step pyramid.

Azrael (/ˈæzriəl/; Biblical Hebrew: עֲזַרְאֵל‎, ʿÁzarʾēl; Arabic: عزرائيل‎, ʿAzrāʾīl orʿIzrāʾīl; Punjabi: ਅਜਰਾਈਲਿ, Ajrā-īl) is the Angel of Death in Islam and some Jewish traditions, and is referenced in Sikhism.

Azrael is a psychopomp: a person or creature who transports souls to the afterlife after they die...he isn’t a personification of death; instead, he’s an (Angel of Death).” Depending on the religion or mysticism in which he appears, Azrael is the embodiment of a benevolent figure. He looks over the dying, separates the soul from the body, and transports the spirit to the afterlife.

The focal point of the park is the main terrace, surrounded by a long bench in the form of a sea serpent. The curves of the serpent bench form a number of enclaves, creating a more social atmosphere. Gaudí incorporated many motifs of Catalan nationalism, and elements from religious mysticism and ancient poetry, into the Park. Much of the design of the benches was the work not of Gaudí but of his often overlooked collaborator Josep Maria Jujol.
