Picture was taken next to the abbey of Daoulas in Finistère, Brittany, France.

Unique in Brittany, this Roman cloisters and its remarkable pond, the fountain and 16th century oratory, as well as the abbey-church dating from the 12th century, all bear witness to the initial splendour of this site. A former monastery, built in the 12th century by Canons Regular of Saint Augustine, the Abbaye de Daoulas overlooks the little town of Daoulas, once a strategic port between the Léon region of Brittany and Cornwall.

According to legend, the beginnings of the abbey date back to the year 510 although the first known documents, dated from the 12th century, attest to its foundation in 1167 by the Viscount of Léon. After a long period of prosperity, the buildings, sold during the Revolution, became private property, apart from the abbey-church which now served as the church for the parish.

The Abbaye de Daoulas has the rare privilege of possessing numerous points of interest for visitors – the charming gardens with their diverse and fascinating range of plants, the patrimonial aspects of the site, and the discovery of lost or distant cultures through a programme of exhibitions whose focus is the elsewhere, a theme particularly pertinent to this region of travellers.

Die Lufttemperatur kühlte in der Nacht ab, dadurch bildete sich ein Nebelschleier über dem warmen See. Zeitglich zeigte sich der Vollmond über den Wald.

It´s a old railway in front of my home. The bulky rails show their age. This railway is sometimes in use by a factory for diesel locomotives, to inspect their deployability. In this time the locomotives ride here very, very slowly - the better choice :-)

We give because nobody gave to us.

My creation of a mystic landscape, the photo was taken in the Lynches River County Park SC.

Those days in November, a beautiful evening glow was hanging over the valley, offering a mystic view into the Black Forest. The left structure on the horizon is the radio and tv transmission station Langenbrand built in 1964 (173 m). The right structure is a wind power station built in 1999 (99 m). Both approximately 17 km away. The smaller hill on the far left represents the Haidach viewpoint in Pforzheim.
