I dyed my hair brown today! I've been contemplating it for such a long time now, I even told myself that after I got back from Germany I would go back to brunette. That took me longer than I expected it to :P I just couldn't give up the blonde, but I'm pretty happy with this colour too.

a pretty emotional piece I've had in mind for a while now and at last got to execute. it's symbolic of my past, and how it doesn't define me anymore. in Christ I am a new person. I'm dead to myself.
I know this isn't the best, but I'm actually a lot happier with it than I thought it would be. screw that. everyone's positive feedback here and on facebook have changed my mind, and this is definitely growing on me.

Today I'm giving myself my own pedi and mani. I'm nervous because I don't have the worlds most steady hands soo I'm going to end up painting the whole nail and then some....lol. I think it's incredible how small DOF can be achieved with the compact RX100.
Shooting with this little buddy is my second point & shoot experience after using SLRs/DSLRs only and I am asking myself 'why I was so strict about that in the past'. It's so fun to play with compacts.
I had to bug a lady to take a picture of me, so proud to have had a quilt in the show Blogged my QuiltCon experience…
For once I actually named a figure a non-generic name :P
Anyway, a nice fig, so I posted it.
I made another pretty sweet mech, so you'll see it soon enough :)

Hello to my favorite group on Flickr! i am sorry i have been a lousy visitor to your photos but things...good things for a change...are happening in my life right now. I need to focus a bit here and see them through, because they are things i have dreamed of for a very long time. I recently have begun to REALLY try hard to make those come true. I seem to be in the right place and at the right time, stars are aligning...reinforcing my idea that i truly was a misplaced southern soul when i was in Jersey. i promise to get back into this, as soon as the dust settles here.
My artistic endeavors are beginning to pay off, and i could not be more excited (or scared!!). i love the thought that people are intrigued and accepting of my art here, and i am getting used to that....now comes the hard part. Stepping out of the teensy tiny comfort zone of being in front of people. I am making slow progress...and it gets a tiny bit easier as i go...but it really does give me pause when i have too much time to anticipate it! I will always be much more comfortable alone, with just with one or two friends or my cats, or books for company. I just need to get to the point that i can self talk myself thru the hopefully limited outings i need to do in front of people!
Thanks in advance for your patience while i make this journey ...i promise i will get back here with the friends and family i have made here...where i am comfortable! (((HUGS)))
I had taken a few pictures of the Marsh Rabbit on my walk around Fort Fisher. He seemed pretty comfortable with me and didn't scoot away. On my way back, I saw him again at the same time I spotted the Clapper Rail. I tried to position myself to shoot the Rail and got a few decent shots off. I looked down, and the Marsh Rabbit was eating clover right next to my feet! I had to back up a bit to actually get him in the shot. He seemed very comfortable with me -I've seen others here and they are very skittish. Very usual day!
