Diverted to MSP to acquire a new engine for a Delta 777 in LAX. However, there was another last-minute change of plans and it continued to IAH without any additional load.

After waiting for two and a half hours past the scheduled departure time for this whale to leave, there were only two of us die-hards left to witness this empty UA flight head for Chicago after arriving earlier as a charter.
Arriving with authority from DTW for a refueling stop before continuing to ICN (RKSI). Apparently, this was necessary since DTW's longest runway of 12,000 feet was closed and the two 10,000-foot runways fell short of performance limits for a fully-fueled flight.
Today marks the 5th anniversary of the departure of the An-225 Miyra from MSP airport. This "event" drew over 5,000 people, by some estimates, in and around the airport thanks, in part, to plenty of local media coverage. Many an avgeek was born on that day!

Arriving 3 hours later than the originally scheduled flight, it is seen here arriving ten minutes before sunset.

FedEx 1407 decelerates after touching down on runway 35 in the early morning sun. This is another former UAL passenger carrier that has been flying since Dec. 1971. Converted to a freighter in Sep. 1999 and upgraded to an MD-10 with the Advanced Common Flightdeck in July 2005, eliminating the need for a flight engineer. 47 years old and still flying today!

Delta 615 climbing off runway 12R for Tokyo, Narita. It was very nice to see the Queen flying this route as an equipment substitute on this day. What was once common is now a rare treat to see.
