This particular MD-10 is the only one ever to complete an inverted dive in the notorious hijack-attempt incident from 7 APR 1994. I won't go into it here but you can certainly Google "FedEx flight 705" and learn about an amazing and horrific fight for survival.

After being delivered to Delta in Minneapolis on January 30th, N826NW taxis out for its first revenue flight as Delta 162 to Amsterdam.

 

Delta Airlines was the launch customer for this improved 242-metric ton maximum takeoff weight version back in May 2015. With up to 500 nautical miles further range and 5 metric tons of additional payload, this is now the fifth aircraft of this type to enter service for Delta.

It was very cool to see both Honeywell testbed aircraft in the span of a week at MSP.

Stumbled onto a few old shots, pushing the limits of slow shutter speed panning shots. Got lucky with a fairly crisp one here at 1/10s.

Departing Minneapolis on its last flight for the "boneyard" to Pinal Airpark in Arizona. This was one of ten 737-700's in the Delta fleet that were retired in 2020, all with an age of only 11-12 years.
