Autumn in the California Sierra Foothills is breathtaking. It's nature at its most flamboyant. It's nature doing the flamenco. It's "Trees Gone Wild!" Most seasons, when I walk amongst trees, they calm me, put me in my little old place. But, in Autumn, these trees ... well, they make me want to go feral!
This is a biggie, at 3 x 3'. The border is ceramic tiles and round glass tiles. The rest is made of tempered glass, two thicknesses of plate glass, leaves, ferns, paint, glitter, decorative papers. Seven colors of grout!

Posting just a few ATC mosaic cards today. If anyone sees something they want to trade for just message me. I can create a similar card on request. I had to get a few created for the off-line swap this Sat., but my plan is to create at least 2 more for on-line trading.
I have called this piece "Plant Me a Rainbow". It has been done in the style of my daughters earliest flower drawings. For those children that EBT is raising funds I honestly wish I could plant them a rainbow...I like too that my donation for this project reflects the art of my daughter and I together :)

I usually try to use only one grout color, but decided 3 were needed here. That yellow in the shirt is sooo bright! Mark likes it, he told me he wishes he had that shirt!!

14" x 12" x 3", a variety of pottery/ceramic shards including antique Mexican & raku pottery, hand-built & manufactured ceramic, gold-leafed porcelain teacups, & glass on custom built substrate.
One of the things I love about doing these broken pottery works is that I never know what materials, collected over many years, will end up in them.... the main ingredient here is raku pottery which was excavated @ The Shard Yard & Garden of Pensacola. The fish & other rounded pottery shards were given to me by a ceramic artist with whom I did some of my very first art shows with in New Orleans. The gold rimmed glasses came from my dear friend Kim's wedding tea set . . .
Lots of history to ponder as I dig through collected treasures, turning the old into something new!
