Played around a little with the ring saw today. Wasn't sure where I was going but somehow ended up doing a scrolly heart thingie. This was cut out of blood red plate. Will trim it up a little more before gluing it down on the next funky heart project. Have to be careful taking material out of plates as they can be fickle and easily fall apart.

I am trying to express Caribbean mood here. I love Caribbean Island, great people, great music. Everything made from seashells.

This is my first real attempt at a landscape mosaic and I was pleased how it turned out. For my inspiration I used the familiar peaks surrounding my hometown of Missoula, MT. The mountain on the left with the little L on it is called Mount Jumbo; the peak in the middle is University Mountain; the mountain on the right with the little M on it is known as Mount Sentinel.

I've been having fun making colorful birds lately. What happened is I went on-line and found so many beautiful birds that I couldn't make up my mind.
I'm just playing....

I've done Papa. It was time to do Mama. Papa's picture wasn't finished without her by his side.
He's been overseeing this project, making sure I do it right.
I blew up a picture of her several times on the copy machine, and lay it under a pane of glass. I'm applying vitreous tile directly on the glass over the picture.
Trying to come up with a cute name. One I thought of was: "Working it" because it looks like the kitty is working it for all to see. Suggestions welcome.
Off to Gallery 35 tomorrow.
