Day 2/366
Random folks milling around at MoMA. I had today off, so randomly decided to take a trip into New York to see the exhibit of George Seurat's drawings. They were totally worth the trip, as was just getting to walk around in such a cool building. A lot of modern art is lost on me, but certainly not everything.
‘Where the Railroad Leaves the Sea’ 1964 by Ronald B. Kitaj, Chagrin Falls, OH b. 1932-Los Angeles 2007 at The Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia
This was an interactive piece at SFMOMA: a television with a microphone input. When one walked or spoke near the mic, an electron beam would dance across the screen.
I was more interested in the burn in pattern from the beam. This is the dance of background sound, of silence, of imprecision in the piece itself. The electron beam dances to this music most.
