Running around in Brisbane with no destination, I discovered this sculpture which is based in front of the Telstra Office.
I had the perfect moment when a business man was on the phone facing me and standing to the left of the sculpture. Before I got ready he saw me and went away.
So David duChemin is absolutely right when he is speaking about the importance of timing. Two minutes later the sun came out and i had very hard shadows on the object, which made further shots unaesthetic. Make sure you check out his website: www.davidduchemin.com/
I got a bit turned around on my return walk to the hotel -- but it really didn't matter, because there was so much to look at and enjoy.
Bath is not a city I'd associate with modern art, and yet here was this beautiful street mural!

Relationships can be complicated, confusing and mystifying. ‘The Couple’, painted by Derek Mark, presents the nature of a relationship through the simple posture of two people. The man, seems troubled, looks down to the ground, whilst the woman, who is sitting on the edge, conveys a sense of mystery as her face is oblique - this makes the viewer wonder: what is going through her mind?

This sculpture reflects the interplay between abstract and figurative forms in Moore’s work. ‘I have done other sculptures based on this idea of one form being protected by another’ Moore recalled. ‘I suppose in my mind was also the Mother and Child idea and of birth and the child in embryo. All these things are connected in this interior and exterior idea.’ Later versions of the sculpture were made in bronze and elm wood, and a twenty foot high cast is sited in the atrium of Three First National Plaza in Chicago.
