Her face, a mosaic of notes, delicate and profound, each paper slip a fragment, secrets tightly wound, in the flutter of her gaze, silent messages resound.

In a visage of paper notes, her secrets lie entwined, a thousand whispers flutter, truths yet to be defined, her gaze, a silent letter, with a message to unbind.

"Bachelor - The Dual Body" by Rhee Ki-Bong at the Singapore Biennale 2008.

The book is "Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus" by Ludwig Wittgenstien, which is actually made out of leather and floating in a tank of water. There is some kind of current in the tank so the book moves around slowly.

The interpretation supplied by the exhibition guidebook is that it symbolises a classic text of Western philosophy "coming loose from its bearings due to the waves of globalisation" and suggests that Europe "is bewildered about the future."

‘Suzanne Bathing’ 1938 by Tamara de Lempicka, Warsaw 1898-Cuernavaca 1980 at Palacio de Gavira

This picture was first exhibited at a solo show that Lempicka held in 1939 at the Paul Reinhardt Galleries in New York. In 1940 it was used for an intense publicity campaign announcing the artist’s desire to find a model like the one in the picture. About a hundred Californian girls came forward for selection.

*unfinished, left as is after sobering. * drawn with burners which are similar to a soldering iron.

p.s. some years ago did a series of these which turned out better than expected; the technique was than called "pokerwork" or Pokker werks" and was dismissed as "art" for it fell into a category called than: "art-craft" hence not allowed to be shown with 'real art" I believe it originated in Holland in the 60's and fell out of favor for galleries would not show it. Thank God for "flickr"!
