Bei einer totalen Mondfinsternis schlägt auch das Herz von Fotografen höher, denn es bietet sich ein unglaublicher Blick auf den, in kupferrotes Licht getauchten, Mond. Dieser wird aufgrund seiner intensiven Rotfärbung im Volksmund auch als „Blutmond“ bezeichnet.
Die Farbe entsteht durch das Sonnenlicht, das durch die Erdatmosphäre hindurch auf den Mond fällt. Das rote Licht wird bei einer totalen Mondfinsternis am stärksten gebrochen, wohingegen der blaue Anteil des Sonnenlichts bereits in der Erdatmosphäre gebrochen und gestreut wird. Somit ergibt sich ein einzigartiges Fotomotiv.
Totale Mondfinsternis in Deutschland - So entsteht die Finsternis
Eine Mondfinsternis tritt bei Vollmond auf, wenn sich die Erde genau zwischen Sonne und Mond befindet. Die Sonne bescheint hierbei die Erde, welche einen Schatten Richtung Mond wirft. Zieht der Mond durch den Erdschatten (Kernschatten), gibt es eine Mondfinsternis.
Die Besonderheit bei einer totalen Mondfinsternis ist, dass der Mond hierbei vollkommen in den Kernschatten taucht. Bei einer partiellen Mondfinsternis steht er im Gegensatz nur teilweise im Schatten.
