So many things I wanted at Equal10 but having just thrown all my L at getting my store ready for an event, this was the 1 (and only one) item i purchased at Equal10. Out of everything there, this was the item I wanted most. I love it!

This project is part of the CyberArts 2020 exhibition at the OK. Floods and droughts, forest fires, resource exploitation and pollution – with Infinitely Yours, Miwa Matreyek combines animation and theatre in an impressive kaleidoscopic live performance. Again and again the artist finds herself as a shadow figure in dystopian scenarios of overlaid animations, in which the man-made destruction affects not only the environment but also the artist’s body, i.e., the human being herself. The Los Angeles-based director, designer, animation and performance artist received the Golden Nica in the Computer Animation category for the genre-crossing personified illustration.

A nusa is a wooden wand with many pieces of zig-zag rectangular pieces of paper called shide that are used in Shinto purification rituals.

Miwa Jingu is a Shinto shrine along the old Yamanobe no Michi road that is dedicated to the god of Mount Miwa. It is believed to be one of the oldest surviving shrines that shows Shinto in its purest form-- meaning that no spirit is enshrined-- just the god of Miwa Mountain itself is worshipped. On the grounds of the shrine, there is an ancient Japanese cedar in which a legendary sacred white snake lives. Miwa Shrine is associated with old Shinto snake cults and is also sake brewers.

Details sought for this small, Japanese registered, tuna long-liner fishing vessel.

The builder's plate appears to indicate that it was built in 1991, in Japan.

It is the only Japanese long liner of these dimensions and design that I have seen at Las Palmas.

Note the (Indonesian) crew scraping the marine growth from the hull, with zero H&S in mind.
