Here is a single SASSY pose. There are no props for this pose.
With a last minute heads up and a long drive, the mad dash to set up was in full effect. With at the time still fresh 6354 leading the Y118 south, the train splits the signals at Elms Rd. I also had my own new equipment that night, a new light was in my bag and shame on me for not changing the auto off custom function that ended up shutting off the light right before the train got there, which left a nice dark spot that fortunately was not on the signals or train.
Happy Slider Sunday
Just wanted to take a minute to clear something up about my last image. That is not a Cactus garden. I do not know of any true Texan that would plant Cactus. It's almost impossible to get rid of. If you chop it up it starts new plants from the pieces. If we try to run over it with the tractor the thorns punch holes in the tires and it doesn't freeze during the winter.

The mechanical kitchen timer was invented in 1926.
This was my mother's from some time in the 60's. It works fine today but my kids and grandkids prefer to set a timer on their phones.

The Riverside, Phnom Penh
Pigeons at the Riverside are so tame, they will actually eat right out of your hand. The one above just flew in to say hi and to see if my camera was edible. 😁
In the photo above, you're actually looking across The Tonle Sap River, away from the city. A five minute walk from here, The Tonle Sap merges with The Mekong River. This area of Phnom Penh is known as The Riverside, home of The Royal Palace, The National Museum, Wat Ounalom and dozens of cafes, bars, restaurants and hotels.
There is a wide, paved pedestrian sidewalk running along the rivers, which makes it a popular hangout for foreigners and locals alike. Especially after sunset, when it cools off.
In a last minute idea, we gathered GLC's three newly acquired SD35's that they purchased from MRL for a group photo. This would be the last time all three would be 700's in one photo, on the following Monday the 705, on far right would be renumbered to the 383 and is currently the only one out running for now. The 702 became the 384 this week and will hopefully be pulling freight soon. The 701 will also hopefully be operational by the end of the year. Big thank you to the Great Lakes Central for letting a few of us pose their engines for a few hours.
It sure only feels like a minute ago that 3018 blessed everyone’s lives by showing up in Manitowoc for almost a year. This unit single handedly would’ve made 2020 the best year to date if you ignore everything else. Over the course of the year I made 5 200 mile trips to document it’s operations, truly marking the death of the WC in the united states, as to my knowledge only 1 unit remains in WC colors here, being a SW1500. While it is sad I am truly thankful to have seen 3018 so many times and it has been missed, stuck in canada for the past 9 months. Was this description overkill? maybe. Manitowoc, WI

These White-winged Crossbills had dropped in earlier this fall before there was any snow to feast on the many cones in our Spruce Trees. Unfortunately I had not noticed an errant flash setting so my pictures at the time were not worth sharing. I have to use a flash as it is super dark under the trees.
Today they came back so it was my lucky day to capture a few somewhat good images. Tomorrow I will post the female image.
managed to catch a minute or so of good light after work from the Mt Jukes lookout, Queenstown, Tasmania, Australia
Decided to upload this at the last minute, it's been in the que for far to long......

Spirit is a Ukranian brand. Every week they have fantastic outfits in the weekend sales, of which I have quite a few. I'm showcasing the latest one available in the most recent Saturday Sale. While each individual item is L$75, I bought both fatpacks. And I will keep doing so, in a minute endeavour to show my support, until the people of Ukraine are free from war, free from terror.
In the final minute of sunlight, brand new GT46ACe units MAN004 and MAN008 head away Stockinbingal through Yeo Yeo with loaded boxed grain train 3974 to Port Kembla.
At Port Kembla, the boxes were trucked to the Manildra site at Nowra for processing as rail access at the time of this photograph was very limited due to two silo’s collapsing.
The MAN class locomotives were purchased by the Manildra Group as part of the new haulage contract with Southern Shorthaul Railroad starting November 1 2024. They have begun to arrive from the United States during the second half of 2024, with 8 out of 17 in the country at the time of this photograph. They're an EMD GT46C-ACe Gen II model with a 16-cylinder 710 series engine, providing 4,500 gross horsepower.
