This stunning Mink is called Malfoy and he loves his photograph being taken. He will happily pose for you late afternoon and really seems to enjoy the attention. He's a real favourite of mine. He's so so pretty.

It's inconceivable that there are still Mink farms which kill the young at six months old to make coats and eyelashes for those who are willing to pay.

Saw this Mink on 2 different occasions on the frozen shores of Lake Ontario. He has some sort of injury on his tail, might be the cost of escaping from a Snowy Owl in the same area.

This American Mink is having a Mature Male Round Goby for Lunch. One less Invasive fish in the Lake Ontario.

The Round Goby is a small, bottom-dwelling invasive fish, native to the Black and Caspian seas in eastern Europe. It was first found in North America in 1990, in the St. Clair River north of Windsor, Ontario. Researchers believe the fish was brought to North America in the ballast water of ships from Europe. In less than a decade, the Round Goby has successfully spread through all five Great Lakes and has begun to invade inland waters.

The mink is the most common water mammal predator (meat eater) in Minnesota. It can be found in nearly every wetland, lake, and creek in the state, including those in cities and towns. The mink is a versatile predator. Lithe and agile, it pursues its prey on land and in water.

Just a change up from Patagonia; earlier this summer I was stranded in Tromso Norway for a few days when SAS airlines went on strike - - I still managed a wildlife fix by walking along the city shoreline.

Seeing a mink is a somewhat rare sight in western Washington. This shot is not quite as sharp as I had hoped but am sharing for the relative novelty.

The American mink differs from members of the genus Mustela (stoats and weasels), as well as the other members of Neogale, by its larger size and stouter form, which closely approach those of martens.

Hugging the rugged shoreline of Lake Superior, Canadian Pacific GE AC4400CWM 8032 guides train no. 118 through Mink Harbour with a train fit for a publicity photo amongst some spectacular autumn foliage at Coldwell, ON.

Special thanks to Josh Dudinetz and Earl Minnis for information on this location! I am still processing the grandeur and scale of this iconic stretch of railroad.

Eigentlich wollte ich Blaukehlchen im Moor fotografieren, dass ein oder andere hatte ich auch entdeckt, doch sie hielten sich recht weit von mir entfernt auf. Ich beschloss wieder nach Hause zu radeln als plötzlich der Nerz genau vor mir auftauchte und mich verwundert ansah.

Ich dachte im ersten Moment es sei ein Fischotter, was mich auch sehr gefreut hätte. Mit einem Nerz hatte ich definitiv nicht gerechnet.

Also drückte ich erst einmal auf den Auslöser ohne irgendwelche Einstellungen zu beachten, dass erklärt auch die 10000 ISO.

Not a new shot, but one of my favourites... I've only seen one of these little terrors this year, that was a black one out at Ham wall. And I've not seen hide nor hair of the smokey or chocolate ones out on Tealham moor for a couple of years now, which is a good thing, but equally I've not seen a water vole out there either. :@\

Kinneil...was sat by the water watching distant waders when this appeared...it swam past, smelled me then doubled back...it then spent 10 minutes on the bank sniffing me out.
