Sometimes it is refreshing to take an image which is free from clutter and detail. This photograph was from a morning shoot at Bedruthan Steps, Cornwall.

Firth of Clyde during a recent sunset, I just loved the way the colours appeared together between the sky, horizon and water. This is the thing with Scotland, even on days where the sky has been heavy, there is usually some colour somewhere to be found.

Taken at Portobello, Edinburgh, Scotland, 2021.

Seems minimalism is all the rage, and I'm down with that. Bring on the negative space, too, while you're at it. The street shooters also love to crush the blacks and crank up the contrast; we all want to copy Fan Ho's style. So here's to the absence of detail; just don't shoot me because I didn't convert this image into black and white, or shoot it on film.

Taken while having lunch in the Masai Mara.
