Went back to Blackroot Pool in Sutton Park - overshot the mark and walked 2.6 miles in thick mud. Haven't quite recovered yet !

~ Edited in Topaz Studio and textured using my own textures ~

I'm sure all my friends here on Flickr will know about Mud. Not easy to walk in but I loved the autumn colours here.

And if you fancy a laugh, do listen. I know - showing my age here 😃 !

Oh yeah, to reach there..."

I wasn't miles from nowhere but it sure felt like it. I took an alternate route home following the memorial service held for my colleague and his wife who lost their lives October 2nd in the accident on the 401.

(One of my favourite songs too)

The Collection’s Magister was built in 1939 and entered service with the RAF as P6382. However, when it was acquired in 1971 it bore the bogus civil registration G-AJDR.

The logbook revealed an earlier change of fuselage (to which an aeroplane’s identity is attached) to that of P6382 which had never borne a civil registration so it has now been registered G-AJRS.

It was restored to flying condition by Shuttleworth apprentices using components from three other specimens and is one of only four airworthy examples in the world.

#sundayfunday Wild & Free !!!

Being wild and free has been my lifestyle for more than 20 years. Sometimes too wild and too free. The last few years it has meant putting on the helmet, the leather jacket, the boots and riding the bike without any particular destination.

Hint: Not a soul in sight.....

This tree stood on a ridge near Johnstons' five miles from the blast at one time when suddenly it and it's beautiful surroundings were obliterated in an instant. I've watched the pics turned into motion shots many times and the blocked in power released that Sunday still astounds me.

Alvin Harp mentioned recently that he felt a sadness when his favorite pics fell off the front page and my first thought was Saint Helens. Tonia and I were going to go down there tonight and get some good light in the morning but my 14 hour day at work put the kibosh on that so in the meantime, take a moment and look at this place, I hope that I'm not alone in my fascination. :-)

Råbjerg Mile is a migrating coastal dune between Skagen and Frederikshavn, Denmark. It is the largest moving dune in Northern Europe with an area of around 2 km² and a height of 40 m above sea level. It is also the only major stretch of migrating dunes in Denmark. The dune contains a total of 4 million m³ of sand. Wikipedia

Way back in the year of 1896. Skookum Jim, Tagish Charlie, and George Washington Carmack, found gold in the Klondike, a discovery that started the Klondike Gold Rush.

Throughout the world, adventurers and fortune-seekers travelled often by poorly constructed boats, or they walked, as they sought their fortunes in the far north.

Many would die EnRoute - and indeed, many would perish here at Miles Canyon because they knew nothing about boat building, navigation, or swimming.

Doc and I have visited the area on several occasions, and we marvel at the history, and the beauty that surrounds us. It is definitely a "must see" on your way north.

RAGBRAI is the largest, oldest and longest recreational bicycle ride in the world. This year is was 462 miles across the state of Iowa, ending in the Mississippi River. Here cyclists stop at a water break.

About halfway along Celestine Lake Road outside of Jasper, Alberta is a spot that I visited 5 years ago when I was there, and I ventured back again this year. A lot has changed since my last visit, a wildfire scarred the area badly, leaving millions of charred trees in its wake. However, we were thrilled when we arrived and found the rolling grassy hills at this spot had been somehow spared from the destruction. Along the edge of Jasper Lake and the Athabasca River, westbound U761 rolls along with the Miette Range in the distance. The crew was a little surprised to see anyone out there, and warmly greeted our presence.

After travelling extensively to the remotest parts of India, it is my view that the phrase "Women Empowerment" is a utopia to the people like her as they belong to the low-income group of our society and cannot speak in English!!!

I almost never have my digital camera out when Miles is in my lap.. but this time, I did .. he likes to sleep in my lap for an hour or two at a time....which is pretty good when you consider that he's only 8 months old.
