In Norse mythology, Huginn and Muninn are a pair of ravens that fly all over the world of humans, Midgard, and bring the god Odin information.

Midgard - The Age of Vikings
Ye are Blood of my Blood, and Bone of my Bone.
I give ye my Body, that we Two might be One.
I give ye my Spirit, 'til our Life shall be Done.
You cannot possess me for I belong to myself
But while we both wish it, I give you that which is mine to give
You cannot command me, for I am a free person
But I shall serve you in those ways you require
and the honeycomb will taste sweeter coming from my hand.

long exposure shot of the naturally formed rock that is known as The Dragon Eye of Uttakleiv. The rock is essentially a tide pool with a round algae covered stone in it creating the appearance of a large eye. It’s located at the southern end of the beach. Personally, I like to think of it as the fossilised remains of a great dragon that was killed at Ragnorak and fell to Midgard, the realm of men.

Norse Viking Music - Úlfhéðnar To get the real feeling^^
Úlfhéðnar... Úlfhéðnar...
At bersærkja ræiðu vil ec spyrja
Úlfhéðnar hæita,
þæir er í orrostu
blóðgar rander bera
vigrar rjóða
er til vígs coma
þæim er þar síst saman
Úlfa nú geyr mjök
Yfir skógar, yfir Miðgarð . . .
Wolf-warriors... Wolf-warriors...
I should like to ask thee of the position of the berserkir.
Wolf-coats are they called,
Who bear bloody shields in battle.
They redden their spears when they come to the fight,
And then they act all in a body.
Now the wolves howl vigorously,
Across the forests, across Midgard . . .

Guardian of Bifröst, the rainbow bridge between Midgard and Asgard.
The White God, ever watchful, with unmatched sight and hearing – he can hear the grass grow and see in the dark.
Gjallarhorn – sounds at Ragnarök to warn of the final battle.
Hofund – his shining sword.
Born of nine maidens of the sea (the daughters of the waves).
Creator of social order, forefather of humankind’s classes according to Rígsþula.
Heimdall and Loki slay each other at Ragnarök.
Thor rowed to sea,
Hymir at the oars.
An ox’s head
sank to the deep.
Serpent stirred,
the sea roared.
Midgard rose,
mountain-high coils.
Thor gripped the line,
strength unyielding.
Mjolnir lifted,
lightning answered.
Hymir grew afraid,
cut the line.
The serpent sank,
Ragnarok waits.
Hel is the goddess of death and the underworld in Norse mythology.
She rules over Helheim, the realm of those who did not die in battle.
Half of her body is alive, the other half decayed and dead.
She is the daughter of Loki and the giantess Angrboda, sister to Fenrir and the Midgard Serpent.
Hel guards the boundary between life and death with unwavering calm and power.

The cosmos in Norse mythology consists of Nine Worlds that flank a central cosmological tree, Yggdrasil.
In the beginning, everything was a virgin forest and a wasteland. The gods cleared space and created places to be, both for themselves and people. Midgard called the people's homes - because it is in the middle of the world. And in the midst of Midgard - for people not to feel alone and left - the gods built a powerful place for themselves: Åsgard - a very gudeborg, protected by thick walls. To get there you have to ride the rainbow bifrost. Around Midgard, strong defense forces were built - for outside, in the wild and unknown, raising dark and creepy powers. Here - in Utgard and Jotunheim - live jotner and troll. This is how everything is organized: equal to three year olds. And far out - on all sides - the great ocean of the ocean waves. Here is also the Midgardsormen.

This is how it is described in Norse history.
By the primal sea of the world, two tree trunks washed ashore – an ash and an elm.
They lay lifeless, without shape or power, until the gods approached.
Odin bent over them and breathed his spirit into their forms.
Höenir placed his hand upon them and gave them thought and awareness.
Lóðurr stretched out his hands, and the warmth of blood filled their veins.
The glow of skin appeared, the spark of life awoke – wood became human.
Thus were Ask and Embla created, the first of humankind, born of divine will.
From them descends the race that dwells in Midgard, bearers of spirit, mind, and the spark of life.

Hey George, can you look at this design. I think if we can get a hold of a functional Hi Stryder. Strip off the head and arms. Then we strap some new arms, head, and a special backpack I cooked up. Better shield generators, and plamsa thrusters. I'm still working out some weapon options, but I think this will only ever see action to scare the hell out of the Royal army, and the contractors.

The burning Bifröst rainbow bridge between Midgard and Asgard hangs open over Kírkjufell, Snaefellsnes Peninsular, Iceland.
Archive pic of a spectacular Aurora Borealis event, from 28 September 2017 getting a dust off. A bit happier with my editing some years on but still having a few noise issues.
Kírkjufell is partially lit up by the sodium vapor lamps of Grundarfjörður town to the right, behind the camera - hence the grungy green/brown colour of the mountain. A half moon was hanging in there too somewhere to the west along with quite a deal of thin cloud resulting in reduced contrast in some of the beams.
The faint white spot at extreme left is near the carpark for the famous Kírkjufoss waterfall. Apparently there was a total scrum over there at the time with lots of rude photographers being not at all collegial.
I knew it would be a shambles at the waterfall so gave it a miss and shot this from an empty carpark just outside town. At one point the display was so intense I just stopped taking pictures and lay on the grass looking up (and feeling incredibly small :-)

Midgard is a realm in Norse mythology. It is one of the Nine Worlds—the only one that is completely visible to mankind (the others may intersect with this visible realm but are mostly invisible). Pictured as placed somewhere in the middle of Yggdrasil, Midgard is between the land of Niflheim—the land of ice—to the north and Muspelheim—the land of fire—to the south. Midgard is surrounded by a world of water, or ocean, that is impassable. The ocean is inhabited by the great sea serpent Jörmungandr (Miðgarðsormr), who is so huge that he encircles the world entirely, grasping his own tail. The concept is similar to that of the Ouroboros. Midgard was also connected to Asgard, the home of the gods, by the Bifröst, the rainbow bridge, guarded by Heimdallr.
Heathens commonly adopt a cosmology based on that found in Norse mythology—Norse cosmology. As part of this framework, humanity's world—known as Midgard—is regarded as just one of Nine Worlds, all of which are associated with a cosmological world tree called Yggdrasil. Different types of being are believed to inhabit these different realms; for instance, humans live on Midgard, while dwarfs live on another realm, elves on another, jötnar on another, and the divinities on two further realms.
Most practitioners believe that this is a poetic or symbolic description of the cosmos, with the different levels representing higher realms beyond the material plane of existence.
The world tree is also interpreted by some in the community as an icon for ecological and social engagement. Some Heathens, such as the psychologist Brian Bates, have adopted an approach to this cosmology rooted in analytical psychology, thereby interpreting the nine worlds and their inhabitants as maps of the human mind.
