Incredibly in our Alps there is no snow and ski resorts must be adapted to plan housewives snows.

While in our South, usually with mild winters, it has been flooded with so much snow to block roads, railways and planes

Middle River was nearly a mirror on this interesting evening with the clouds.

I headed out to Middle Black Clough exactly two weeks ago on one of the wettest weekends of the year. There was absolutely no way to get over the river which had become a raging torrent. But after nearly two weeks without rain today it was a doddle. Unfortunately the dry weather meant that the Middle Black Clough waterfall wasn't very full, and not as beautiful as so many of the other shots on flickr. It's little more than a drip

foraging on one of our old apple trees. It's rather difficult to identify the gender of middle spotted woodpeckers, at least in my opinion.

A hilltop in the middle of a large city in the early evening. To the left, near one of the trees, if you squint you can see the image of a statue. Pioneer Mother is “A memorial to mothers who made the arduous trip west to seek better lives for their families, the 13-foot bronze statue depicts a woman perched sidesaddle on a mount, holding an infant, her expression reflecting grim determination and exhaustion. She is flanked by two men with rifles and a weary pack horse.” Can you guess where this statue is located? Maybe somewhere near a famous trail leading settlers to the west?

Last one at least for a while from Middle Mashel, I think it's worth a second comp. They have gone out of their way to make this amazing place accessible yet there are signs all along the trail reminding you that two people died here last year climbing around it. Let's be careful out there.
