Our guides to Goyder's Pillar in the Simpson Desert in Australia's Northern Territory were an aboriginal family who spend their winters on their ancestral lands taking care of Batton Hill Camp on the Hay River - it's a dry riverbed for most of the year - and who move to the air-conditioned luxury of Alice Springs during the summers when it gets unbearably hot (50C).

Metallica poster (72 seasons) on the toilet door. I was at Metallica's concert on June 7, 2024 in Helsinki. Really good, worth every euro. I'm listening to Metallica right now.
